The real fail here is asking if they took Apple pay. Just present the phone or say you want to pay with your phone.

You can still get them using pay, you just have to get your lazy butt out of the car and go inside.

Expect ALOT of cashiers (low end people, really) to not know about Apple Pay or if their place of work is accepting it.

It's up to the managers to train these low end employees so until that happens, expect a lot of confused looks from cashiers.

My local Starbucks does not allow you to pay with the app at the drive-through for this reason.

I've used Apple Pay twice now at the McDonald's drive-thru, and while it is a bit awkward having them hold their card terminal out the window, I imagine as this takes off they will probably either have a reader mounted outside the window, or something a little easier to hold out to the customer. Unless it's raining, I'll most likely continue to pay this way.

I get this deal almost every day! Cheap, and it's healthy, too.

This is true in my area. I used ApplePay at my local Walgreens and the lady asked why I was trying to take a picture of the POS device. When ApplePay went through, she looked at me like I had done some sort of black magic to pay for my item. Then it took 5 minutes to explain it to her and she called her manager over to make sure I wasn't trying to steal something.
