Attacked for 'Challenging the Status Quo'

BULL BEEPIN BEEP!!!! No, the community is attacking you because of your ass backwards payment system, probably full of security holes, and disabling contactless payments to those who want to use  Pay, GWallet, or tap-to-pay cc's.

I will never use CurrentC,  Pay or not. EVER! CurrentC can burn in the deepest darkest parts of Silicon Hell for all time for all I care.

I'm sorry but honestly do they have their head up their asses? Apple is the future and has be the one to challenge the status quo.

The MCX executives should've just kept their mouths shut today. I have a feeling that their consortium of merchants is going to start turning on them pretty quickly. MCX basically just threw their merchants (specifically CVS and Rite Aid) under the bus by telling the public that the merchants themselves made the choice to piss off their customers who want to pay with NFC and that MCX had nothing to do with that decision.

Secondly, the MCX execs stated that they plan/hope for their system to be compatible with all credit cards even with the interchange fees. I suspect that is not what this consortium of merchants signed up for.

It would not surprise me at all if merchants start suing MCX for breach of contract and NFC terminals start lighting up in droves to welcome Apple Pay and Google Wallet.

This guy should be a politician, to think we are that stupid to believe, the stores turned off Apple Pay because they know me better then I know myself. Oh ya, I remember you asking me about MCX vs Apple Pay?

I can't stand these liers. His system(MCX)sucks and now he's going to blame it on the people he sold it to, what a guy!

This, after I went to my CVS and told them how I, and a lot of other people want Apple Pay? Funny the manager of the CVS I USED to go to, told me, they had no choice in the matter, doesn't have anything to do with customer wishes!

He, stated "there was an exclusive deal for some kind of new payment system, that corporate(Rite-Aid CVS) bought into". "We have been told to turn off NFC ASAP"! This is all he could say, other then I was not the first to question this. He couldn't or wouldn't tell me how many people, other then I was not the first.

I agree!!!

For sale?

If they have contracts with all these merchants, and interfaces with their rewards cards, perhaps Apple should buy them.

Customers know best huh ?

"He said the merchants believe customers want more than just mobile payments, and CurrentC's integration of payments with loyalty cards and coupons will in his opinion prove to be the best solution."

If that were true they would have zero problems having Apple pay there too because the Customer would choose to use MCX.

Perhaps MCX is the best choice when it is the only choice.

Some people on here are so obtuse. Its not about Apple pay versus currentC. Merchants are doing exactly what many businesses would do and that is to protect their bottom line. I've said it from the very start, that something has to be done to incentivise merchants to adopt Apple pay, otherwise they won't adopt it. As it stands now, with Apple pay merchants have to pay more than they would with just regular credit card payments. So of course they're going to go with an inferior payment system that gives them more. When Apple and the banks hashed out their agreements, they sure didn't think about anyone but themselves. And this is the result.

Do you enjoy being 100% wrong? Or do you just enjoy spreading misinformation that has already been corrected many times on every thread about Apple Pay?

Credit card companies have this kind of info.

The type of info CurrentC requires is not something I provide freely to anyone who asks. Credit cards issued by banks have most of that info. It's not something I supply to anyone who asks.

I'm not an iPhone 6 owner so relax. Not using Apple Pay either.

Why buy when you can destroy for half the cost.

Are we expecting this to be another "iPhone will never replace Blackberry as the smartphone of choice" moment? When in 18 months it will be MCX who?

As I put in the other story, other than:

Name
SSN
Driver's License Number
Address
Bank Account number

What else would hackers want?

I also put that in other MR stories, but not as itemized lists. It's a horrible thing that they're hacked, but a risk/consequence that I'm not willing to take.

Risk: Low, but realized
Consequence: My back account has the possibility of being cleaned out.

Mother's maiden name,
Street name you grew up on,
First Pet's name,
Elementary School Name,
Make/Model of your first car.

Just to name a few. They'll need these to get into the rest of your accounts.

I don't think most people heard of MCX before this week... I know i hadn't, this is the best press they've gotten as for product awareness. But as it's also showing all of CurrentC is is flaws.

I'd compare MCX closer to the Firefox phone. Nearly everyone knows what Firefox (Walmart) is. Nobody knows they make Firefox OS/Phone (MCX)...

Watching MCX yammer is like watching Larry the Cable Guy do Michael Jackson's moonwalk. It's sad and humorous at the same time.

Instead of fighting Apple and Apple Pay, MCX really should have talked to Apple to figure out if there is a way to let iPhone users use MCX by getting close to an MCX terminal and using their fingerprint on TouchID to confirm a payment.

I have provided that info to the IRS only. No way to some weird outfit headed up by Walmart!

I don't even give the IRS my DL number or my bank account info (though they could find it if they wanted to, I'm sure). I'm sure as hell not going to give it to some retail conglomerate.
