I strongly disagree. the cheapest ipad 2 will not start at $629

and if apple continues to sell ipad 1, it will not be at the same price.

and there will be wifi only ipad 2s

well ipad 2 has 4 times more cpu power than ipad 1
four times more gpu power than ipad 1
why can't it have four times RAM,

with ios 5 in a couple months will have more features that will demand more RAM,
and more and more 3rd party apps will demand more RAM.

I am not entirely positive but I still believe it will have 1gb, we'll find out in a week

Your right, we will find out soon. Again though, why does the processor speed have anything to do with the amount of ram. I take it you do not have a background in IT. Doubling the ram is more than sufficient, which is probably the best word to use when describing apples thought process when it comes to making that decision.

You do make a decent point about iOS 5 however. That could be a reason to have more ram, however we just don't know. Just don't be surprised/disappointed if we find out it only has 512mb. I'd say chances are 75/25 we end up with 512

im sorry, i cant find that.. i mean, im in my account setting but i cant find where to put the signature

User Control panel

edit signature

Agreed

I am kinda worried about the price for the UK iPad, with the silly governments VAT going up!

my prediction:

cortex A9 or Apple A5 dual-core 1.2ghz
1gb of ram
dual SGX543 gpu
thinner,
lighter prolly like 1lb-1.25 lbs
front facing camera slightly higher res than ipod touch, and photobooth app
back facing camera 1MP
Gyrometer
Same resolution
launch with ios 4.3, ios 5 will not be previewed.
flat back, tapered edges
atleast one new port ie. sd, usb, lightpeak,
redesigned speaker
anti-reflective coating on the screen.
same battery life

16gb wifi:$499 32gb wifi:$599 64gb wifi:$699

3G version available on at&t and verizon(it will have dual-mode cdma/gsm)
16gb+3G: $599 32gb+3G:$699 64gb+3G:$799

also you can now get a data plan contract with each carrier, which will result in a subsidized price in the 3G version.

Edit: I believe this is exactly correct. I am willing to bet on it. anybody want to challenge me. Or question any of the above items

ok me :)

thinner + lighter (=less batteries) + a processor almost 3 times the speed of last years A4 against similar battery performance is simply impossible.
It will feature a slightly faster cortex A8 probably at the rumored 1.2 GHz speed.
The dualcore A9 i think they'll save for a (september?) ipad HD.
Also just 512 MB RAM.
I also dont think the wi-fi only models will have a backside camera. The backside camera makes no sense when you dont have GPS and thus little use for augmented reality. This would also explain the conflicting reports regarding the backside cam.

Finally i do think there's a chance we get a slighly higher res screen at 960x1280. But only if retina is not around the corner.

not thursday?

If they are announced during the media event, we would most likely get a redesign and light peak right?

im just going on the fact that is just easier to do it with an event ( because we basically have a conformation for an ipad event) and it doesn't look like there will be one this thursday. if it truly is this thursday for the mac book pros it will probably be a keynote not a press event. sometimes they include things with an event it doesn't mean its a big update but its more likely. but who knows? :D im just rambling lol

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2_6 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8E200 Safari/6533.18.5)

Oh thank god!

All I know is all of you are going to be behind me in line.

Only the Woz, will I let in front of me. And that's only if he gives me a ride on his little tricycle, or whatever it is.

maybe it will have only 512mb,
but it will have dual-core A9, back camera,

and the possibility of 1280 x 960 resolution is 0%
