Yeah, on one end you have these corporate products, and on the other end, you have Apple charging $1000 for a stand.

You just proved my point: crappy, low-cost corporate monitors at one end of the market, $1000 stands at the other.

If “many people” wanted something better in the middle, the market would respond with such a product. The fact that it hasn’t proves that it isn’t ”many”.
Uh… There has been a massive surge of 5k and 6k monitors at different price points during the past two years. If not ”in the middle” between crappy office monitors and (old) XDR displays then what are they? The monitor in this thread costs about the same as the old XDR stand… Now we are also seeing monitors that are pushing up refresh rates on higher resolutions.

Sure, the perfect specs on a monitor at a great price might not exist, but what you can get for 1000-1500 is more then ever (and more options depending on what you prefer).

Laughed every time when I read "The monitor in this thread costs about the same as the old XDR stand… ", which also means Apple's old XDR stand is more expensive than probably 90% of the monitors. What a wonderful world.
