Memorila - Flashcards reinvented!

A classic flashcards app powered by spaced repetition for faster language learning.

Hello!
Over the last 4 years, I used Memrise to learn foreign languages like French 🇫🇷, German 🇩🇪, and Italian 🇮🇹. However, earlier this year, Memrise stopped supporting user-created dictionaries ❌. In response, I decided to create my own app called Flip, focused on learning - without the distractions of gamification or gimmicks.

Flip takes the best features of Memrise and improves on them with additional functionality, such as:

  • Automatic audio playback 🔊 for flashcards.
  • Support for 30+ languages 🌍.
  • Completely offline capability 🔒 for uninterrupted learning.
  • Focus on learning - say no to the distractions of gamification and gimmicks.
  • Walking mode - turn your daily walk into a language lesson!
  • Pay only for actual result. You only pay based on number of cards you've learned

Feel free to ask any questions or share your feedback. I’d also love to hear any suggestions for improving the app.

Hi everybody! New version 1.13 is available in App Store. Now you can choose different methods for each cards, added a bit of animations, improved dictionaries quality.
And check out this video - How to start with German language in just 40 seconds!

Hey everyone!
The new version is live — and now you can try out the Walking Mode yourself! 🚶‍♂️📱
I originally built it so I could review flashcards while walking my dog, but it turned out so useful that I even use it at home in certain situations.

I also gave the About page a refresh — it now includes a link to the website and a support email if you ever need help.

Happy learning, and let me know what you think! 😊

Hi everyone! A year has flown by, and I'm still working on the app. 😊

The first version of the Community Journey is finally available!

Now everyone can find themselves on the road alongside other Memorila learners. Every dinosaur represents a real learner, so for the first time you can actually see the community learning together.

One thing immediately caught my attention: there's a little "danger zone" near the beginning of the road. 😄 Most learners stop after about 4–5 days, but those who make it past that point usually keep going much farther.

Don't become another resting dinosaur. Push through those first few days and keep your journey going!

I also added a few fun details:

  • 🦖 Active learners walk along the road.
  • 😴 Learners who haven't studied for a while sit down to rest.
  • ⭐ You can add friends by their ID in the Favorites tab, follow their progress, and even turn it into a friendly competition.
I'd love to make this feature even better.

Tell me in the comments:
  • What language are you learning?
  • How far have you made it on your journey?
  • What do you think of the Community Journey?
  • What would you improve?
