Probably because it's the only(?) area you shave daily. Stop shaving your face for a day or two, and it'll be much easier/more comfortable. Or conversely, try shaving everything else every single day, and see how quick 'n' easy it is then! :p

Ouch! I don't think you realize just how quickly my facial hair grows and how much is there. I don't get a 5 o'clock shadow, I get a 2 o'clock shadow. If I wait a day, it REALLY hurts to shave it then. The rest of my body hair doesn't grow nearly as fast, so there's no need for it to be a daily thing.

I don't doubt you're right, though.

I simply don't have time to shave everything below the neck. I mean I have hair on my toes for crying out loud. I do now have this funny image of guys with huge beards but no hair at all below the neckline :p

Oh, and you did evolve from monkeys, but only after they evolved from slime.

Pluck

I once read of a young woman who plucked her pubic hair (much in the same way as eyebrows).

I now do this -- occasionally, and purely for pleasure. It is slow but pain-free, and does not create stubble or rash.

Why men are attracted to shaved women is perhaps a topic for another thread. ;)

For me at least, when the stubble comes up it can be a bit tough to shave, but once it gets a tiny bit longer (perhaps, after 48 hours without shaving) it's easy to shave, and the skin isn't as sensitive - I'm guessing because it hasn't been dehydrated by dragging a blade across it the previous day.

Yeah, I know it works differently for everyone.

I would like to get that lasered. Shaving that area is definitely NOT a good time. And yes, I've done it.

Lasered? They can do that these days?

That would be great for conversation: "So yeah, there I was having laser-beams fired into my arse..." :D

If it's hygenic to shave your body, then presumably it's hygenic to shave your head too? And eyebrows?

I do not shave my head and eyebrows. I like my hair on the head and eyebrows.
I do not have an beard or anything like that.

After a day or two, are you not just coated in all over body stubble?

No, my body is used to this shaving so it is not stubble any more now.

You take a legitimate and mild tease very personally. If you start such a thread, I think you have to expect a little ribbing. It wasn't even aimed specifically at you.

Sorry, overreacted. Sometimes I get fussy.

I've wanted to shave my leg hair for a very long time, as my legs are ridiculously hairy. My friend Joe does it, but I'm bad at shaving, and I don't want to cut myself. ._.

Trim with a trimmer and then a razor.
I'm doing that with my pubes.

Nice! I think that would be hilarious if a conversation started that way around me.

I know it's sort of an old wives' tale, but don't you tend to make your hair grow back stronger if you keep shaving it? Also, isn't it just a bitch to constantly shave your entire body? Why not just wax/laser/put Nair on it?

This is madness ...
