So my wife is questioning my addition of the white sport band. I wear it with S2SS and S3SBSS. She says it looks......feminine. I showed her a couple pics online and told her I saw plenty of dudes wearing it in review vids, etc. I'm 5'9", athletic forearms and wear a 42mm watch on 6.75" wrist.

I poked around on search but didn't see a dedicated thread.

Would appreciate some pics of dudes wearing the white sport band! The harrier the arms, the better..... ;-)

Help a guy out?

Edited to add here's mine:

Looks fine to me.

I only wear white sport bands with my space grey face. Right now I have the Nike Plantinum/Black band. But the majority of the time is the regular white sports band. There is absolutely nothing feminine about it.

Wear what you want and don’t care about it looking feminine. Hell, I wear purple sports band here and there. I couldn’t careless of what others think about it.

Generally agree. However, this is my wife and so her input is part of the contract. Just looking to change her perspective a little if possible.

Appreciate the help so far. Would appreciate some more pics if you could take the time. Thank you.

It’s obly feminine if your finger nail polish matches your watch strap or if you point at things with your pinky.

J/P

I think it looks fine but like you said you care about what your wife thinks so just deal with her comments then lol.

Happy wife happy life. You want to be right or do you want to be happy?

Thanks. Not trying to be "right". Some would say trying to be "right" would be more wrong. Just trying to offer her another perspective of the fondness for the clean look of the white bands or the Storm Trooper white band/black watch thing. She has a white band for her 38mm sport, so it must be feminine. She isn't into tech like me, so she hasn't seen the pics and vids of dudes sporting the white. Just thought I'd offer her that perspective.

(I started writing this before eyeseeyou's post -- "Happy wife, happy life" is totally correct)

Your wife is wrong.
Guys, we need to be careful about where this "Your wife is wrong" path can lead. Pseudo-Fed, you're correct to be wary, but that's as far as you need to go.

(invoking Tom & Ray from Car Talk here)

Is it worth it to be "right" if it means that your wife becomes upset and resentful?

Let's say you're right, and let's say she relents and accepts your opinion. She's going to scrutinize every decision you make from here on out (assuming she isn't already). You had better be spot-on with every decision. God forbid you screw up, because then she'll nail you to the wall, and you'll lose all the clout you mistakenly thought you had accumulated.

What I would do is take this opportunity to get a more "manly" strap, like black or brown leather (well, you'd have to get both, because true gentlemen match their leathers -- and we gotta pretend to be gentlemen, right?), or a rugged steel bracelet, or something like that.

I think you have an excuse to shop upmarket and get some really nice straps. Look for crocodile leather, or "jubilee" or "oyster" style steel bracelets. Go retro and get an honest-to-goodness Speidel Twist-O-Flex (which Speidel now matches specifically to the Apple Watch), or just go OEM and get the Link Bracelet.

She'll still be right, and you'll have a more excellent strap -- or a collection of them -- than just a white Sport Band. Win-win!

Good note. Got the other straps covered so far though (have S2SS and S3SBSS):

I no longer feel bad about my collection of watch straps which I now feel is a small collection lol.

Do they come in white? :)

Haven't tried those yet. $149 for what you get seems a bit much. Do like the Cosmos Blue though!
Apple made a white leather loop but it was discontinued. There is a used one on Ebay. I have bought from that seller before and his stuff is as advertised. The white one he is selling is large 42mm. I have two brand new ones (42mm medium) coming in the mail I found online. :)

The leather loop is very comfortable. Once you wear it, you won't want to wear a sport band (unless it is bad weather or working out).

Our of curiosity, do you get much use our of the S2SS now that you have the S3SB? I found a new S2SB for a decent price before Christmas but haven't opened it yet. I'm generally wearing a S3 Nike+ because I like the lighter weight (and sport loop) when running, but felt like I needed a second watch to get me through the day and sleep tracking. I'd been using my teen's old 38mm S0 while the S3 is charging, but it's painfully slow.

The white band comes with the SS Silver. I don’t like it (hetro male) and tend to agree with your wife. But it’s nice to see many people posting otherwise here.

Yes. Alternate every other day or so. Wear S2 on on-workout days. Wear S3 on workout days since I like LTE without phone while running (when warm enough to do so outdoors). Or, if I want to wear one of the bands that goes with stainless. The S2 is also my "beater" since I have plenty of fine scratches in the stainless already. I wear it for example when shooting at my defensive pistol shooting hobby. Screen is still as pristine as when new out of the box....

Does the S2SS give you Flights Climbed with watchOS 4?
