Another reason to avoid pink :D
You say that now. But what Londoners wear this season will be forced out to everyone next season thanks to our homogeneous High Street clothing chains :)

I have one pinkish t-shirt which I got as a birthday present and I wear it occasionally. I wear it because it looks ok, but I don't really think about the socio-cultrual ramifications. It's just a colour. *shrug*

Pink at it's worst is when it's combined with a Ralph Laurenesque polo and a popped collar.

In my opinion blokes wearing pink just screams "I'm a sissy metrosexual" to me. I think it looks silly. Yes, I don't like sissy metrosexuals.

And yes, it's just a colour but that doesn't mean it's not a crap colour. Fluorescent "80's" green and similar colours are also crap and shouldn't be worn unless you want to look like you entered the pub in 1985 and haven't left since.

Your friends should dress you completely in pink while you're unconcious and take you outside. :)

Sudden....urge....to...kill.....

I HATE THAT!!!

Now don''t get me wrong, I shower everyday, keep my hair clean and neat, I don't smell like BO but then... I don't use "product" in my hair, I shower with hot water and soap, I dress in neutral colours and the only "accessorising" I do is put my watch on when I wake up.

I don't understand all the gelled-up, faux-hawk sporting, massive-sunglasses-wearing, two-different-coloured-polo-shirt-with-the-collars-up toss pots that are multiplying like gawdy, sissy rabbits in the pubs.

I blame those people for the current trend of turning pubs into trendy soulless clubs.

I blame them too!!

I actually had to go to one of these clubs on Saturday (friends stag do) for the 1st time ever and the last time!

Personally I think pink looks much better on some men than on most women, but it doesn't suit everybody in my opinion.

Agreed. I think the colour really does tend to look good on paler people (not necessarily white people), as do really light (lite?) colours like a pale yellow, for example.

It's like: "Look, I am so macho and so comfortable with myself that I can even wear pink. Check me out, I am such a stud!" It's almost like a statement, and a somewhat arrogant one at that. Hence, rather unappealing.
But I don't wear pink because it's trendy. Sure, I never wore pink shirts before the last 3 years, but it's higher level of availability doesn't hurt. You would have never seen pink shirts for boys 13 years ago (when I was 13 years old).

But it's been a popular colour in London for ages now, esp pink ties.

FAKE EDIT:

PS: I'm wearing my pink t-shirt right now. And here's something else........it says "cowboy" on it.

I've often wondered why pink is called pink and not pale red

I can't think of any other colour that changes it name totally just because its mixed with white.

English classifies pink and red as seperate colours. Other languages regard pink as light red.

Some languages regard dark and light blue as totally different.

Others regard orange and brown as the same colour.

I have loads of pink t-shirts and shirts!

I think you can make only one generalisation about men who have a lot of pink clothes - they need to be a lot more careful separating their colours in the wash!

i found the recent forced trend of pink shirts rather idiotic...

that aside it's funny that in english no difference is made between "rosa" and pink like in german (it goes so far that people here confuse it)

add magenta, lila, violet, lavender and purpur and most people have problems keeping them apart

Of course, for those times when my clothing offends others, I usually just remove it. Having said that, I remove my clothing regularly anyway. Clothes were designed by ancient religions to entrap our souls.

Pink shirts and ties are very fashionable amongst the London business community at the moment.
The 80s revisited

It's just a colour, and in our most honest moments all men, I'm sure, will admit they have no problem with it. But when we're walking down the High Street our natural aversion to looking girly will always prevail. It's just societal acceptance, if you will. Like men don't wear skirts (except way oop narth, but that's a different history :D ).

I have a long-sleeved polo shirt that is pink and I like it. I don't know what a 'popped collar' is, but I was unsettled after reading:

Any picture links to show what kind of style this refers to..?

Not that I'm worried. I lost interest in fashion after 1950's Marlon Brando (not that I was alive then).

I like to call that shade "Ribena Vomit". There's no way anyone can argue that colour looks good on anyone, even women.

OKaaay...how about long-sleeved, collar down and no white vest underneath? Oh, and a non-athletic body...?

Erm.... wear what makes you happy!

I have a polo in that color... but I only wear it with these shorts, really....

But I'm unapologetic about it. I have other pink stuff too though... then everyone already knew I liked pink. ;)

I personally dont wear pink tops. I wear small pink stripe things with other colours but never a pink top. It just dont like it and the people that i know who do are loosers.
