And more importantly, clear ruling in the class action lawsuits! We win! They admitted to a defect by giving users free cases, but that doesn't mean squat! Guaranteed win on the class action! $1 credits for all! :D Can't wait to see Apple eat millionsssssss for this bulls***. You can't purposely release a defective product and HIDE IT. :)

Love my iP4, do not love Apple (as I once did).

Mine works too. I took off my bumper, held it in my left hand for a 2 hour and 10 minute conversation and the call never dropped. I never hold the phone in my left hand.. So it was kind of weird for 2 hours, but in the end I didn't lose service, never dropped the call.

Not just bumpers :) Offering a variety of cases, we'll see what they are!
 
People should purchase the bumper of their choice right now before everyone starts buying them out (for free) next week. Come next week, just return it for a refund, then keep it for free.
 
Tell you what, ya'll find me a phone that does what I do with my iPhone and I will gladly....GLADLY return it and buy that phone. Hell, I'll even eat the restocking fee. I need MLB at Bat with streaming game video, Slingplayer, a decent camera and something to put pictures together into one large picture. You're still here? Go! Hurry up, too, I don't have all day. Otherwise, I'd like my iPhone fixed so I don't need this freaking case on it so it functions as a phone. I hate this case.

Short of that, there's nothing to discuss.
 
My guess is they could make enough cases if they really needed to but do not want to piss off / impact the entire accessory market in doing so.

By sourcing and offering a selection of third party cases, they avoid the cost of ramping up production, put the product in the hands of their customers sooner and $$$ in the accessory manufactures pockets keeping almost everyone happy.
 
Wonder what type of cases they're gonna source. I was wanting a case anyway but I wanted one that could be put in a holster like the Seidio I have for my 3G.

Then it'll probably be 6 weeks before you even get your case.

You are a liar CNN and gizmo do said that it doesn't make calls! Even though i make calls on mine multiple times a day!
 
Having this press conference is worse than not having it!

Steve: "yes we have problems...but so does everyone else."

Then instead of addressing the problem...

Steve: "the problem is minute, less than 1% of users...but we still love you!"

Steve: "free cases for everyone, yay!!!"

I will be if it fixes the problem. I have the signal drop issue and haven't tested it out with a case yet. So if it helps, then yes

And I agree with you on that but can you really be mad about them giving away something for free or a $30 refund. Should the phone work without a bumper/case? Of course it should but it doesn't look like it's going to happen so this is what you're stuck with and it seems to be your best bet unless you want to return it.
 
Yup, job done for me. Mine does it, but it has proved absolutely zero issue as I never hold it in a way where it would be. And I get a free case (which I was going to buy shortly anyway). Sorted!
 
return it and stop crying. you are in the minority. the vast majority of us ip4 owners are happy and having no problems.
 
Just called the Apple Store. They don't currently know the process for refunds. They said yes for sure we'll refund you for your bumper, but they couldn't tell me how to get the refund. They told me to check back on the apple store site periodically for updates.
 
Mine works ok, my daughter's works ok, we are on different networks, and live in different areas.

When will people realise that 1 bar or 5 bars, you can make a call on either, the number is irrelevant.
 
Nope, I've never used a case for any of my iphones (with the sole exception of when I go to the gym) and I don't see why I have to use a case if I don't want to use one. Apple thinks they are pretty slick sidestepping the issue, and they probably are pretty slick as they could sell dog crap in a box and it would still sell like hotcakes. At the very least they should just include the bumper in the retail box.
