Tried to FaceTime with my mom for about 20 minutes before I saw this headline on Twitter. So frustrating!

It seems as though iMessage has become more and more unstable over the last two months. For a long time I never experienced outages, but over the last couple months I have had numerous outages that have lasted extended periods of time.

Again, Apple?

Next thing will be making a minor adjustment to the "It just works!" phrase to "It just works, most of the time!"

That NC Server Farm, Steve showed with all those heavy duty non Apple servers... hope that's not Apple's problem, otherwise and to borrow a tag line, "Hey, Apple, get a Mac!"

Nah, it's all about simplicity for apple; it will feature another open letter from that useless CEO Cook, and the new slogan will be...."It sometimes works!"

Mine is working again now!! I had to login again and this time like someone stated earlier, I had to select a region.

Wait a darn minute it only works from an email acc and not your actual number #

Technically it's not free if you have to purchase an Apple device to use it.

Just saying.

Regarding iMessage issues... Has anyone else noticed that iMessage actually on occasion LIES about the "delivered" status of a message?

Just last week I texted/iMessaged my wife in a store about where she was, the message was noted as "delivered" within a few seconds... BUT, I found her anyway, and about 5 minutes later her phone beeped with the message.

"Delivered"... Yeah right. Don't trust it.

Good grief. Some of you people really need to get a grip. It's annoying, yes. Infuriating even. But class action lawsuits and compensation for "pain and suffering"? Really? Apple will get it fixed and in the meantime you'll just have to go back to what you were using before these FREE services were introduced and guess what... the world won't end as a result!

While I agree somewhat with your sentiment (re: people's overreaction), these are not free services. This is part of the iOS ecosystem we're paying for when we purchase Apple products as opposed to Android or another platform.

When I bought my iPad Mini, I reasoned it was worth the extra money (versus the competition) for several reasons... one of which was my belief that the ecosystem is superior. That ecosystem includes iCloud, iMessage, Facetime, etc. When parts of that ecosystem fails to work properly, it weakens that particular argument.

Not wishing to be argumentative; these are new services added LONG since the birth of iPhone and they surely are not the reason anyone buys an iPhone. Therefore, they are bonuses. Bonuses for which there is no charge.

Point taken. However, things go wrong occasionally. Washing machines break down, cars break down, networks break down... cause for hysteria?
