Minus the white home button

that will be hard though to install, because if you get it off by only a hair the front facing camera will be covered up, thus being compromised...possibly the proximity sensor too. Also, if it just happens to get over the screen that will also be compromised.

That is, of course, assuming the top and bottom will be solid black that you can't see through to make the front look black.......
 
I'm sold on the white one this time around.
My 3GS is black and I want change. Sometimes my fingerprints (I happen to get alot of text As I eat) is SUPER visible and I kind of hate that.

Nevertheless the black one will do if they happen to sell out or screw up my delivery. Lol ;)

But I really want white.

And whoever said they (White Model) looks cheap is crazy. The glass is covering the white underneath, same with the black model. :confused: Cheap? It's the same.
 
I'm probably going with the black

I've got a white 3G and I always loved the white iPods. This time I'm probably going to go with the black one.

I agree with others who've said the white front complicates the design. I'm concerned with what's on my screen ... not on it's frame. On the white phone I see a black dot for the camera, dark slits for the sensors, a dark area for the speaker, and the screen edges are highlighted by being contrasted with the white bezel. With the black phone all of that fades away and thus creates less visual noise when I'm looking at the screen. I think Apple had a great design solution with the white 3G and 3GS by making only the back white.

Here's what I'd like:

I don't get why people don't like white. Ever since we had the choice for white or black products from Apple, I have stuck with white. Some people think it's ugly... I think it's awesome.
 
i still think they should let us mix and mach so if we want a white screen we can with a black back and the same thing as we have for the 3gs now too.

Some of you are a bit sexist on here in saying white is "girly." What's so wrong if something is perceived to be feminine? Who really cares?! Do you really hate women that much?

I'm getting a white one because it looks a lot cleaner. Plus, I think black is out of style.
 
It's so weird/funny.

It seems like everybody that previously had white is switching to black and vice versa. . .

I'm just tired of black now but with this model the white really looks better, overall. I don't know it seems like the screen is lighter for some reason as well.

(I'm probably just making up ways to convince myself why white is still the better choice) :D
 
Today I am leaning toward the white.
Tomorrow I will likely lean toward the black.

Black is definitely "the norm."

Another reason for liking white? Less people with it!

I'm one of the few with a white 3GS in my area but, at least on MR, A LOT of people are going with white this time.
White might soon become the norm.

We'll be the only geeks with them.
Everyone outside of here will say the same thing "Well black looks more professional" :rolleyes:

But living in NYC it's pretty much inevitable to see both colors daily.

As others have said, I love the back of the white. The front, not so much.
BUT I disagree that some people want white back/black front. That would just look like an oreo.

I'm leaning toward white. :rolleyes:

wellllllllllll you know that FaceTime video that Apple has? Every single one of them has a black iPhone and not one of them has a finger print on it? They must clean the iPhone's thoroughly, then once the actors have it in their hands the director tells them that if they hold it differently they will need to shoot the whole scene over again.

point being is, black shows finger prints like crazy. if someone uses a case, i can see why you would want black because then you still have the black front. I will use no such thing as a case, so absolutely gonna get white. Good color, looks amazing, and....no fingerprints :)

u stil have the same screen as the black one that takes up 85% of the front, well guess what.. that will get finger prints on it, your logic is bullshiz haha
 
No one here has seen the White fronted iPhone in person. I've heard people say "Oh it's toyish" or "The colors on the screen will look all washed out".

First, we've only seen pictures and some video. The front has a layer of glass and then the white color. It's gonna look very clean and slick, not like a piece of regular laminated white plastic.

Second, do you really think that 960x640 display with 800:1 High contrast ratio is going to lose any of it's pop and clarity? Nope, and I bet that's why Apple was finally comfortable with making it all white.

Man when the 3G came out everyone said "Eww how ugly that Black front is with the White color" And now everyone wants it back? hahaha :D
 
i originally had the White iPhone 3GS to be different but then everyone copied me haha. however im still going with the White iPhone.
