[Merged] iPhone - White vs. Black (2010 / iPhone 4 Edition)

White 32GB iPhone 4 for me. The all-white design brings back memories of the older iPods that were all white. :eek:
 
My 3Gs was black so I think this time I will go white, even though I really like the black model as it is more professional but it seems boring compared to the white.
 
I really like the white one, but I think I am going to go with black as well. The black bezel makes the screen pop more. Also I notice that when I look at the black one my eyes go straight to the screen, but when I look at the white one my eyes go to the bezel/phone and then the screen. The white is too distracting, but nice looking at the same time lol.
 
I really, REALLY like the looks of the white this time around. My only issue with the white is that my first GS (white) seemed to get dirtier, easier. I wonder with the new glass design it will show less smudging and dirt, etc.

Those pics of the white with bumpers look very sexy. Any ideas on if it will show less marking with the glass design?

White actually hides fingerprints and such more. I guess if you had actual "dirt" on your hands it would show up, but for concealing grease and smudges, white is better.
 
The white bezel is really distracting when viewing the display. I wish they have black front and white back.

^ Seriously. I guess white is the new pink. I feel like a girl carrying around my white 3G. Wait, no I don't. What I *do* feel is that my phone is a lot less filthy looking than everyone's black one after they've touched it for 2 seconds!
 
Neither one looks bad, but i voted for black. It just looks plain awesome and classy as well. The white isnt bad except it does look a little strange with the front being white too, plus it would get dirty too easily. My girlfriends current phone is white and you can see the dirt on it easier than my black one. I think if i had to choose i would say i like the white 3G(S) better than the white iPhone 4. At first i thought it was weird that the white models had a black front, but now im starting to see why. So i'm sticking with the classic black iphone.
 
This time, white for me. Have a black 3G and although I like the look of black, I was constantly cleaning it (it was naked most of the time). So to change and avoid the "constant cleaning" I will go with white this time.
 
i was considering white but
1) i dont like seeing the censer there at the front
2) i dont like the black seems because they should be whit since the phone is white
3) i dont want to but a bumper i know i dont have to but i feel with the white i would want one
4) and also u see the black ring around the screen more with white

i am still undecided tho i feel the black is too plain and the white very vibrant and the fact that the white wont show finger prints.

number 1 and 4 are the main reasons but its still annoying me like crazy
 
Those of you saying white looks weird on the front... do you guys remember the white iPod? That didn't look weird.
 
Why NOT black:
- fingerprint magnet
- bumpers look better on the white
- I've used a black 3G and/or a black 3GS, I'm tired of black

Why NOT white:
- ugly sensor-grill above the earpiece
- attention catcher (this could be a plus for someone)
- less professional-looking
- not black_is_the_new_white_Apple-like (i.e.: it feels weird near an iMac or a Macbook Pro)
- the white frame around the screen is distracting (or more distratcting than a black frame, or less good looking)
- I've used a white 3G and/or a white 3GS, I'm tired of white


I'm more in the "why NOT white" team.
But I also hate fingerprints.
I don't know what to choose at the moment....
 
The more I see hands-on videos and pictures of the white, the more I like the looks of it. And since I plan on using it naked, maybe with a bumper, concealing the fingerprints would be awesome.

For me, it's all about the distraction from the white bezel.

The first video iPod was such a new development that we "accepted" the white color...because we were just happy to have the new iPod capabilities.

We often become more picky as items develop over time.
 
I would love to have the all white color. I've always said that about my previous iPhones. I liked the backing was white but the front was still black and with a case it didn't even matter then. The bumper case is going to be perfect for the White iPhone 4.
