[Merged] iPhone - White vs. Black (2010 / iPhone 4 Edition)

Remember there's another good reason to get white iPhone for it will attract sunlight less, thus making it a tiny bit cooler than the black one.

But my main reason for getting white iPhone is to match my race.

One thing I don't like about the white are the lines that surround the screen on the iPhone. You know how the screen in the middle and than around that is a thin area with no graphics around the screen?

Nothing screams manly like placing some balls next to your mouth when you talk on the phone.

No. Makes no sense. Whoever thinks white is girly is associating white with being feminine. It's not.

colors don't have gender.

I was originally going to say that until the color "pastel pink" came to mind.

I have had a white iPhone since the 3g and I personally have never found it to be "girly" but i remember when the 3G was new and people would see the white iPhone for the first time they would make comments about it being "girly".. But by the time the 3GS came out it seemed people are used to seeing them in both white & black so i think that "girly" image has drastically faded.. AT LEAST I HOPE! lol

My girlfriend and I were looking at the new iPhone 4 on apple's website and when she saw the white one her exact words were " that one's cute"! Right then I thought to myself, black it is!!

Ive been totally agonizing over these colors! But in the copious amounts of side by side pictures on the net i have found the white to be the better looking color and it shows of the newness of the i4 more so when compared to the black. Plus the black in all these pictures ive seen has been so grimy looking with the new glass back.

Yessir.

The white looks nice, but there's something more "cutting edge" about the way the black looks.

The iPods with the silver backing I thought looked better in white, but it doesn't translate as well to the iPhone.

I'm a guy and I currently have a white 3GS, but I'm going to go with black when I get an iPhone 4 in a couple weeks. I always wondered why they didn't make the front of the white 3GS the same color as the back, but now I can see why. It looks horrible and really girly.

I am really torn too. This is how I see it though: The black seems more youthful, energetic, and spunky. The white seems more executive, refined, and mature.

Anyone else agree? I always liked the black iPhones, until I really saw what the white iPhone 4 looks like...and personally, I kinda like the little grille above the ear speaker.

I disagree. I think the white is more fun and youthful, while the black is more sophisticated and professional. That being said, I still can't make up my mind! I have a white 3GS and never once have I regretted it. I think it looks great. But I still need some convincing about the white front.

I had a white 3G, white 3GS, and I'll be buying a white 4. White is rock star, black looks like a $99 3GS.

They both look great. The choice really depends on your personal preference. I know that iPhone 4 will be my first white iPhone.

I'm going for white because I hated the constant smudges and fingerprints all over my black 3gs and the white will not show up as much as the black. I also think the new white phone looks fresher than the traditional black that I'm used to on an iphone.

After the hundreds of hands on videos with the white, I was almost sold, but I was waiting for a hands on video of the black, and finally found one, which has almost certainly made my mind up. Thanks for posting that video. I can't tell what exactly looks bad while watching it; my black bordered MBP or the black bordered iPhone. Either way, it looks like crap.
