I gambled and lost. I was debating on which to get I even posted a thread for help. Thanks to those that posted. But I haven't been more upset with a piece of hardware. I went with the iPhone because of its popularity. Went with what I thought was the more polished company over Android. Guess I was wrong.

Talked for a whole 5 minutes out of at least 12 attempts to make calls only to find out there is a hardware flaw with thu antenna. That coupled with horrible phone service with AT&T this is a disaster. Not to mention the data cap !

I was hoping for a rich phone experience. But all I have is a glorified ipod that just looks good. I will be switching to the Evo asap. If a bad battery is my only hurdle I'll take my chances. Not many new features on this phone either. Facetime is wi fi only which I knew before but with all these other problems I'm passing on the iPhone 4. Maybe I'll try again next year.

So what's the point of the thread if you already decided?

Most of the Mac Rumors community won't sit back and try and convince you otherwise.

The name of this thread isn't "Please convince me to stay" :)
Just sharing my experience with the phone. I know you want to hear all good things and expect people to bite they're tongues on problems with the phone but that just isn't reality. Sorry. My phone has many problems that make it non functional. Sorry to ruin your day.

Just shedding light for others before they make the same mistake.

I'm sorry if I somehow made you think you ruined my day. You didn't. You're the umpteenth thread complaining about the iPhone and most people aren't biting right now. Have fun with your Evo. ;)

Not really, when people who don't like Apple products click on them to leave, it pays Mac Rumors, therefore contributing back to our community. It works out perfectly.

du du du dududu du, du du du dududu du, troll troll baby

How about you post a pic of your i-4, receipt and a paper with your user name to "prove" you even have an i-4. You are basically spouting the same spam that was said BEFORE the 4 even came out so you knew about all these "issues" less the antenna "issue" (that the majority of i-4 owners don't have), other wise I'm calling bunk

Call whatever makes you feel pretty. Who are you to think I need to prove anything to you :)
God forbid anyone be honest on this site. I posted a thread last week about which one to buy smart guy. Look it up since your obviously bored. I didn't know about the faulty antenna until today like most people when I couldn't complete a call. Be mad at Apple not me.

Its pretty insensitive to discredit people who have issues with their phone just because any problems posted some how hurts your feelings. Pretty immature.

I understand that AT&T may have a bad rep...but I think you cant let one day of for sure and obvious overload on the network be deciding factor. Yesterday was launch day EVERYONE is making calls and playing with their new iPhones all morning, it will obviously be a bit congested. thats how i see it, but suit yourself, bye! have fun with your EVO

It's all a matter of personal preference, good luck with the Evo OP! Just don't come back, whining to us that you want the iPhone back. (If that happens)

I'm returning mine on Monday... I don't even want to know what an Evo is.

This phone is playing with my emotions.

Thanks its good to get a nice reply for once. Wasn't trying to offend anyone just stating my experience. Alot of thin skin in here I guess :)

I have heard many good things on the Evo. Some bad also. Can't be worse than todays events.
    Droid here I come.

You join in June 2010. You complain of "issues" that were known BEFORE you bought the phone. Why would you buy it if you already knew you wouldn't like the things i-4 didn't do. I say you're full of crap. If you post up the pics, I'll humbly apologize.
You don't have to prove anything to me, just as I don't have to believe you even own an iPhone. You complain of data cap (knew about it) You say you bought a phone because others like it (really, independent much?) "Not many new features on this phone" compared to what? I don't think the iPhone is the end all of phones. AT&T doesn't provide good service to a lot of people (with all the bitching posts, you should of known this). Supply some pics, easy enough right.

Isn't there an EVO forum somewhere calling your name? Why are you even here?

    "Insensitive"? Hardly.

    Don't care? Definitely. :D

Don't let the door hit you.

Hate to tell you, but it can be worse. Android is a significantly less polished, less mature OS. And Sprint coverage can also be worse depending on your location. In Orlando, for example, it's significantly inferior to AT&T in my experience.

A day is not enough to judge any device, especially given the reasons you've cited; but, not a big worry for those of us remaining. Enjoy the Evo, and go bitch on the Android forums when you run into one of the dozens of issues that impact call quality, disjointed application integration, and the general phone experience. At least you can buy porn in the Google app store!

I would go with verizon and the droid x or the incredible. Much better servie than att or sprint.

And my gosh would you look at everyone just being so friendly just because a guy made a discusion to go to something else. Chill out guys.
