Yeah pretty pathetic how kids are nowadays. Can't have an opinion without someone crying in they're diapers. The phone was poorly constructed. I bet Steve jobs loves these guys. Just put out trash and they flock to it like groupies. And just deal with a non functional phone.

Congrats on finally getting homescreen wallpapers. Maybe you ll get mobile hotspot within 5 years. I'll have my Evo in 2 days. Now I see why Droid people hate ifanboys. They act like 5th graders. Thanks for making my decision easier. I'll be using my mobile hotspot for free while you guys look stupid holding your iblown all weird trying to get a signal.

Actually, everyone does seem friendly about it. What always gets me are people in forums that feel the need to announce their exit.
These are dippy internet forums, not a family or closed club house. Why the drama? I guess if you have been around for years and years. But even then, on open forums, what do you expect, wailing, nashing of teeth, and self flagellation for not being able to read someone's philosophical take on daily events? Oh, and goenjoy the Evo.
It's a phone, I think you can make calls with it and update your FB account, or something. Kinda like and iPhone or Pre or Blackberry.

For those considering an EVO -- DON'T DO IT!
No matter how bad you think the iphone and AT&T are treating you at this point, do not get the Evo. I've had it for a week and a half and it's been a terrible experience.
Back story - After listening to WWDC and hearing the details about the iphone 4, I said "I'm bored....I want something new" Boy, did I get it....new *****!
Trust me, I know about iphones. I've had the 3G and the 3GS and enjoyed both immensely. Looking back, I had no reason to change other than I thought I had to have the latest and greatest. Plus, the allure of Android and the "open" system was a draw. However, it comes at the expense of HORRIBLE APPS, Non-existent Wi-Fi and just a phone experience made for a 6th grader.
1. You can barely get through scrolling on the thing without touching something without meaning too. I thought...damn and I suppose to scroll or just blow on this thing!
2. Scrolling is sluggish and choppy.
3. Facebook - What a crock! Just don't create an app if you are going to do it half assed!
4. Battery - Let me shut up before I lose it. One word -- HORRENDOUS!
5. Wi-Fi - I couldn't get a signal in Panera for god sakes! I mean I'm in there one night with a table full of 90 years olds across from me having a pre-burial meeting or something on their little netbooks just popping along on the web. However, my signal is nonexistent.
I now know after having both that the iphone is the greatest phone ever (in my humble opinion --- so shut up!!!! LOL) It's just a better built phone and does everything....RIGHT.
I went back to AT&T for a "Come to Jesus moment" and am happy to say that I will be back with my love the iphone, Tuesday

Yeah, the android fanboys and apple haters praise the EVO but I've used it exgtensivly and using it doesnt compare to using the iPhone. Widgets are nice, and the big screen is cool, but as soon as you swipe between homescreens or rotate the phone for a landscape keyboard you realize that its nowhere near the iPhone.
amen! same thinking on my part, left my 3gs cause i had to have an evo...worst choice ever. evo is horrid, i'll be lucky to have m iphone4 back tuesday!
You are making a mistake. There are really only 2 phones out now that give you the best experience. One is the iPhone, the other is the nexus one. The nexus is so much better than the evo because is is basically googles test phone. It will run so many more roms and has more features like the color trackball support.
I have owned almost every smart phone made over the past two years. I think the 4.3" screen craze will be short lived. It's a phone! It is sup post to be portable. Larger screens make the device look like a brick, plus you have the same pixel count in the nexus and evo.
I know there are things people find wrong with every phone. We are all humans. Until I can buy a God phone, I'm sure there will be flaws.

I literally feel sick when I touch this big ol' brick! I just can't stand to look at it.
yeah, i'm even considering just picking up a 3g of CL just in case i dont get a 4 so i can ditch the evo
Love my evo. Didn't have a problem with my 3gs but was unhappy with AT&T's coverage. Im happy to see some competition against Apple
I agree! I have had an EVO since it came out and it sucks. The screen is big, but there are way too many problems. Terrible battery life, weak Wi-Fi connection, poorly fitting battery door, the Sense keyboard is a cluster**** and (although subjective) I get no Sprint service at home. Also, I apparently live in a 4G area, but have never found more than a single bar of 4G anywhere. It provided a connection that was slower than 3G but used way more battery.
This is coming from someone who really likes Android. I have had a Moto Droid since its launch and I love both the device and vanilla Android. After using the EVO, I just think HTC makes poor quality phones and I think Sense UI is a crappy skin for Android.
I got the iPhone 4 on the 23rd and I can't wait to drop off this EVO back at the Sprint store.

I have a Motorola Droid in addition to my iPhone 3GS. While I prefer the iPhone, the Droid isn't that bad (kinda like Win 7 versus OS X).
The battery life on the Moto Droid is fantastic, by the way. Way better than my iPhone, though some of that is related to signal quality and the iPhone struggling to maintain a connection.
But the winner is Verizon's service. Sure the peak data rate isn't as fast. But at least I've never dropped a call on the Droid. Not once. My iPhone drops at least 20% of calls (1 out of 5 easily).

Try hanging out in a camera forum...talk about fanboys! Good luck with the swap..I haven't heard great things about android sets from my switcher friends..perhaps the eve would change that. The droid is a pos.
I don't believe OP ever brought the iPhone 4, and it wouldn't surprise me if his allowance is big enough to buy an EVO. Enjoy your LG Dare.

Have you tried the overclocking to improve battery life? I use that and my battery life has been outstanding.
Wi-Fi......are you losing connection or just thinking it is a bad connection due to "bars"? Bars of course mean nothing. Don't go by those if you are.
Battery door....not sure there. Mine fits nice and snug.
Keyboard......have you tried Swype? Excellent keyboard.
