I took tomorrow off thinking it would be here and I could activate it and play with it all day. Of course that was when we foolish ones believed that it would come on the 17th or 18th. Now, since I'm having it shipped to work, I have to go to work and actually work until it arrives then I can leave.

The sacrifices we have to make for our toys!:D

That's like soap dude.

Pop a bar of soap in the Microwave.

Woohoo, my iPhone just got here!!!

The case that is. At least it won't have to be naked when it gets here tomorrow. I should get it a formal case for special occasions.

also, if you watched that video posted wayyyy back - how stuff works ups - you'd know that ky is just a sorting station. they said packages are in and out of the building in 15 minutes. didn't seem like it was a big warehouse. it gets there, gets sorted, then moves to the final destination. i think they are sitting locally, tracking page just not updated.

this is the video for those not wanting to search back http://www.youtube.com/wa

Actually they do have storage in KY. National Geographic just aired a show on this facility and it shows the whole plant. It's a good show. Your right that some packages are in and out in a few minutes, but they can also hold there if needed. Link to the website below.

The fact that Microsoft STILL thinks they can compete with Google and Apple is just really sad... now imagine if Google and Apple merged.. man.. its almost to scary to think about..

Watched the same show a couple weeks ago. It's pretty interesting and shows how everything is automated, making it very easy to have no scan done. Especially at smaller places. They are pretty good at updating at the hub.

I am going to join the madness of this thread. Why am I still looking at tracking information? It's making me crazy.

I ordered from Apple for home delivery. My UPS tracking still says "arrival scan" in Alaska from 6/17 at 1:50 pm. :( I would have thought it would have at least departed for Louisville by now. Anyone else see the same?

I got the email today too from Apple saying it should be here by 6/19, and I am trying to trust them. Of course, UPS for me usually gets here around 4:30 or 5 pm. I wish it were FedEx, because they're always here in the morning.

Some people here have said it's supposed to be by 10:30 am if it's UPS. Does anyone know if that's true or just wishful thinking? Wouldn't that have to be some special service with UPS rather than their regular delivery to guarantee that?

Calm down peoples -- just so you all get an idea about how quick FedEx and Apple can get overnight shipped orders turned around -- check out this shipment I received earlier this week ...

those who have arrival in Anchorage as a last scan (and live on the West Coast), your iPhone is most likely on this flight. Those on the East Coast, most likely on this flight. (The info on that one is effed up and should arrive in Louisville around 12AM PST)

Yes, your phone should arrive by 10:30AM. Says on UPS's site. ;)

Yeah - the howstuffworks show said the sort facility has 59 million database transactions per hour. Easy to see how updates could be delayed.
