Any of you who have had your tracking info that long, is it updating at all, or still nonexistent in the UPS database?

13 hours is long enough to fly to the west coast, or at least be picked up by UPS China.

Until tracking shows progress, I'll just assume orders are being staged at UPS somewhere to ship whenever they need to be shipped. What will be interesting is to see if they all go at once or if ATT store purchases go a day early, perhaps with the rest of the ATT and Apple store inventory.

To all the weblogmediahaters, it looks like a lot of phones are getting shipped if it is taking China 3 days to just put labels on boxes. :D

That's what I want to know. I see hundreds of "I have a tracking number" but none of those people have checked back in with updates. Are any of the tracking numbers traceable yet?

Only that they've been put into the system but they aren't moving.

Yeah, Is there anybody who ordered from Apple site and got the status changed from "Not yet shipped"?

The 13 hours was when it was received and scanned by UPS.

They may even perhaps be shipped by location?

Maybe they'll send out the east coast's batch early because we're further away and then send central, and ultimately western so they arrive on about the same time for everyone? Where are most of the people located who are getting tracking numbers?

All of them will most likely go to the main UPS sort facility in Kentucky after passing customs in Anchorage.

Just because it says "Shipped" doesnt mean its literally out the door, the label has been printed on the box. They might not ship them all out until tomorrow or the next day even. Who knows. They may even ship them thursday for overnight to everyone or wednesday for two day delivery.

They are delivering UPS Air "Red Saver". Look at the 9th & 10th characters of your tracking number for the Service Code. Below is from UPS:

(13) UPS United States Next Day Air Saver ("Red Saver")

What is Red Saver?

Delivery Commitment Commercial Destinations:
Next business day delivery by 3:00 or 4:30 p.m. where UPS Next Day Air® delivery is committed by 10:30 a.m. or 12:00 noon, respectively

That's what I think is happening and makes sense. I live outside of Indianapolis. Ordered on June 8th at 1:18pm PST and my order still says "Not yet shipped". I expect it to update by tomorrow.

1. Take SIM out of my 3g, place in new phone, and restore from my backup. Should give me a perfectly functional 3GS with my number and info.

2. Place new 3GS SIM in my 3g, and restore/activate using my wife's number, presuming AT&T doesn't know/care between activating the 3GS or 3G.

HELP?

I have the exact same situation. I talked w/ATT rep last Friday, they suggested just playing swap the SIM. Data plans for both the 3G and 3GS are the same, so ATT doesn't care which phone is assigned to the line as long as they get their $$$

SWEET! My UPS guy at work gives us the Saver packages when he brings our early packages. I will have by 10:30 then!

If they arrive at the store at 4:30, they then have to sort them, and call the customers to come get them. Plan on Saturday unless you live very close to a major UPS hub.

I know most of you are excited about getting your new phone, but I am sure that if you ordered from Apple, you will get your phone on Friday.

There is a lot of misinformation and paranoia about this. I don't think most Apple customer service reps know anything. I had to call this morning to correct my billing information, and at the end of the call I was asked if there was anything else... I asked if he knew when the last time was to order and guarantee Friday delivery for my father-in-law, and I was told "oh... that was only for those that ordered on the first day that the 3GS was announced." Yeah, sure.

By the way, my status is still "Not yet shipped. Ships: Jun 19
Delivers: Jun 22".

I'm not worried. (Not that I NEED my phone on Friday, either.)

NEED and WANT are two very different things. I liked an earlier post that we hate AT&T for the price, but can't wait to go get'em! haha

Any idea why I appear to have two more rows than other people? None backordered, hasn't shipped. Placed the order online with AT&T on the 9th.

Good evening,

Anyone still left who ordered from Apple.com some time ago (i.e. last Monday) and still in Not Yet Shipped status?

Like me? :(

ordered monday evening and still prepared for shipment (and NOT happy about that at all!)

Red Saver shipping...

It is a special shipping discount given to Communist countries. Think about it, 75% or more of all manufacturing of worldly goods takes place in Communist countries. Scary huh, to think that the whole world depends on communism.

So how about this, is it possible they're being shipped to one location in the US to be sorted and overnight from there to the customers (for friday)? I think apple said the 17th is the last day for anyone to preorder to get it by friday, it would make sense, no?

Since their being shipped out of the china does that mean more should be shipped tonight while most of us are asleep or do they only shipped during our business hours?
