Mine shows a ship date of June 13, but UPS doesn't recognize the tracking number. Go figure. One thing I'm sure of though - I won't get it before Friday. :)

While I'm waiting, I wish there were more information on what I'll have to do to transfer everything from my current 2G.

i've been wondering about this also, I hope it's just a "restore" from ITunes.

It appears as if most of the iPhones that have shipped are the ones ordered from AT&T. I ordered mine from Apple the day they were announced and mine still says "Not Yet Shipped".

mine no longer says iphone 3gs white, it says freight, and shipped. I got mine from ATT store.

does anyone elses say that?

Looks like your package is lost. You will have to file a claim with UPS, they will either find the package or settle with Apple to have a new phone shipped to you within the next 6 weeks.

Have a nice day!

Force iTunes to Backup then restore from backup...

When you get your new phone just make sure you do a backup of your old iPhone before setting up your new for the first time.

You can force iTunes to do a backup by CTRL clicking on the iPhone icon in iTunes.

Then yes you can restore from backup with your new iPhone...
:D

Yeah, Is there anybody who ordered from Apple site and got the status changed from "Not yet shipped"?

I placed my order for 2 phones at an ATT store on Friday night, and was told it was the last day they could guarantee delivery for the 19th.

So far neither phone has shipped. Instead they both show "In Progress". :/

I bought the original 2g iPhone on launch day, and the 3g a year later. I handed the 2g down to my wife and put both phones on a family plan. I was able to secure the $299 (32GB) price for an upgrade using my wife's phone number. SO...

On the 19th I'll have a 3GS that AT&T/Apple believe is intended for my wife's number, her original 2g, and my 3g. My goal is to upgrade my phone to the 3GS, hand down the 3g, and sell the 2g. Anyone know the best process for doing this?

Options I imagine:
1. Take SIM out of my 3g, place in new phone, and restore from my backup. Should give me a perfectly functional 3GS with my number and info.

2. Take SIM out of my wife's 2g, place in my 3g, and restore from her backup to overwrite my info on the 3g (possible?). Will the 2g card work? What about the new card?

-OR-

1. Activate 3GS using her account, transferring information but using the new 3GS SIM card, temporarily turning the 3GS into my wife's phone. Then swap with my 3G card, and restore 3GS using my phone data and 3g using hers.

-OR-

1. Take SIM out of my 3g, place in new phone, and restore from my backup. Should give me a perfectly functional 3GS with my number and info.

2. Place new 3GS SIM in my 3g, and restore/activate using my wife's number, presuming AT&T doesn't know/care between activating the 3GS or 3G.

HELP?

I ordered on the 9th from att and mine didn't ship lol. Still getting the "in progress"

Yes, I got a UPS tracking number assigned 13 hours ago.:D

Any of you who have had your tracking info that long, is it updating at all, or still nonexistent in the UPS database?

13 hours is long enough to fly to the west coast, or at least be picked up by UPS China.

HELP?

I am doing the same thing, using my fathers upgrade to get the subsidized pricing. All you need to do is take your SIM card and put it into the new phone. Activate the phone through iTunes and your set. For me though I have to cancel the Data plan on my fathers account.

Just because it says "Shipped" doesnt mean its literally out the door, the label has been printed on the box. They might not ship them all out until tomorrow or the next day even. Who knows. They may even ship them thursday for overnight to everyone or wednesday for two day delivery.

That's what I want to know. I see hundreds of "I have a tracking number" but none of those people have checked back in with updates. Are any of the tracking numbers traceable yet?

Prepared for Shipment

Anyone know what "Prepared for Shipment" means in Apple lingo? Has anyone who ordered from Apple online seen theirs as shipped?

I've been checking the status so often that I consider our kind of people quite different than others. By that I mean the "9:08PM" crew and the other 8am and 10am crews that had their phones scanned on the 15th in Shenzhen. The "9:08PM" iphone customers are just alittle bit more incredible...thats all.

Apparently UPS:Shenzhen is scanning and sorting our phones in batches. It is interesting that people who ordered days apart from me were scanned at the same time. I guess we were just meant to be together. Whether you ordered on the 8th or 9th -13th, it seems our iphones are being consolidated in Shenzheng awaiting departure on a few Massive Jumbo Jets.
