Now I think about it, the product name is silly too.
They've bet the farm on 'Meta' (overlord company name, made-up 'verse, this product), and yet they couple it with 'Quest' which suggests they're still searching for something. Not the best plan when you want to give customers the impression you have a clear vision.

You can wear glasses underneath the headset, but I have snap-on prescription lenses that you can attach to the Quest 2 lenses. Apple will have these as well.
Glad to see where the headset designs are going. But I will hang on to my Quest 2 for a bit longer with the announced performance boost. No interest in AR.
love that somebody is turning the heat on what tim thinks is the most important announcement in years. It needs to be 6 times more impressive than quest 3
This reeks of rushing the announcement. Also that they put this out today but who knows if they will try to cram in new features by September based on what Apple announces.

Apple has a Trojan horse, I think this headset is gonna be significantly cheaper than 3000 dollars.
That would be something crazy.. and good luck getting to purchase one for years cause rumors say they might struggle to ship 250,000 units. If it only cost $1000 these would fly off the shelf. And definitely Apple stock would explode!
It's not. Never have a comfort issue with my Quest 2
Looks pretty cool and I definitely want to try it out. Also interesting that the Quest 2 is getting a hardware unlock for more performance (I guess their data is showing people don't use it for long periods...so might as well trade off for better performance while using it.)
I don't quite understand Meta's release of the Quest Pro - to me the quest 3 looks way more interesting as it actually solves the issues people had - screen resolution, passthrough, lighter weight/more comfortable, and improved performance. The Pro solved maybe one of those things?

Apple tax. Nothing they make is worth the cost you buy it for. You’re not going to get a $3000 experience from this not even $1000

Agree. I think they're gonna sell it at a loss for now and get those software sales while building a user base.

Well this absolutely confirms the headset is coming. No other reason to announce this now when it won’t even be available until “September.”

Apple really has the ability to make the best PC VR headset on day 1. Really hope they don’t blow it.
There's no ***** way I'm spending $3000 on something that'll be worth $3 in 10 or 15 years. I'm sure Apple will have its diehards, but that's too rich for my blood. The $499 for the Quest 3 is more interesting.
