Zuckerberg said that Apple's privacy features are targeted at changing how Meta operates, claiming the changes are only self-serving to Apple.

The biggest ill-intended company is red China, and you Cook did nothing to it and bend over to comply.
I'm from Taiwan, and not one day I'm not warried my iCloud data, iMessage are actually stored on or traveling to iCloud data centers located in China.

I had Facebook account for about 15 yeas with only a single post for testing a silly app so you know what I think of Meta.
A few days ago, I reluctantly installed and tried Meta Messenger for family collaboration, and you know what, I like it and adore it.

It's plain and clean like iMessage but with almost all the features that matters yet missing in iMessage: such as:

1. Real group chat room (titled with name assigned by user, not that titled as "xxx, yyy,..." member list in iMessage).
2. Unsend post (erase your post entirely from every group members).
3. Indicating which member has read a post.
4. Free cute animation emoji packs that you can just download by clicking the one others posted (no searching in iMessage app store).
5. Not a single junk post from all around the world since it's a invited only club.
6. One of the reason I transferred to Messenger is increasingly annoying junks post in iMessage, and, the stupidly lengthy process to block a junk poster, report and delete the junk post: it takes 6 or 7 steps in several levels of pages.
   What's worse is that no way to report junk if the post was not detected as junk.
   And the worst, your corresponding list keeps growing, cluttered with all the junk posters (if you didn't proceeding the 6-clicks process to block them).

And you won't believe it until seeing it yourself that there are no advertisement, no linking to FB friend, followings or stream (except your Avatar must be edited in FB) or any other mechanism to force your affinity to FB or Instagram or any other Meta thins (and no clutter mess of mini apps bar like in iMessage).

It's a clean and powerful IM (and voice/video chat) app, generations ahead of the staggering and junk polluted iMessage.

iOS and MacOs core apps are all degrading or rendered irrelevant by other players; eating Apple is so easy now.

I guess it’s time to change your business model Zuck. data collection doesn’t work as well in this day and age.. if you don’t like it than sell your own device, Im sure Apple does some data collecting- but they built their business model upon selling hardware and software so they don’t need to collect data if they don’t want too. It’s Meta that needs to change its business model. What Apple does is a reason why i won’t go back to Android- because it is the “Windows” of the mobile world, full of spyware, bloated software, and data mining. I do consider Apple to be the lesser evil of all the major corps (Google, Meta, Microsoft etc..) but at the same time I know that Apple isn’t perfect about the situation either.
