The perfect guy to play as Steve Jobs.

No disrespect intended, but is there really that much interest in this movie that MR need to run play-by-play updates?

Maybe because there's really no need to make a movie about him right now. I mean, he was barely dead and cold before they started making plans to make a movie about him. It's just an opportunistic cash grab - not being done for the sake of art or importance.

This movie would be best being made 20-30 years from now so the next generation can learn about him, but I'm sure they already have plans to do this.
The Social Network totally didn't work as a movie at all...

Do we even need another jobs movie?

Yes, we need one. Technically, the first movie wasn't not as widely known to the masses, the second one people didn't watch it because of the actor and just couldn't get over the 70's show to give it a chance, the third one might be good enough.

Disney should do a Pixar movie of Jobs from little boy to last days. Animated Jobs.

Great actor but he would be seriously miscast. I suggest Ryan Gosling, especially since the film focuses on Jobs early life.

Great actor. It's disappointing Bale dropped out, he had somewhat more of a visual similarity to Jobs, but what do we want more if we can only pick one of a) someone who looks a bit like Jobs, or b) someone with the acting chops to pull off the role as scripted… ? I'd rather a good performance over a close visual likeness (if we can't have the ideal of both).

The more they spend on big name actors the more likely it is to turn in to some rollicking good time buddy flick. You know the sort where a guy goes back in time for some reason.

He gave quite a stark and powerful performance in Shame and his appearance is blockbusters like X Men and Prometheus is sure to appease the worries of the studios about casting an unknown. I honestly think he will do much better job than DiCaprio or Bale.

This fanboy approves.

Jesse Eisenberg

Looks nothing like Zuckernerd - Oscar nomination. The Aspies on this site are hung up on getting some Jobs Doppelgänger independent of his acting chops or the ability to sell tickets. It would be a boneheaded move to cast Noah Wylie. It will be a name actor or the film will be shelved.

Yeah MR, nobody gives a ****. A page 2 mention when this B movie actually hits theaters (or goes direct to VHS) will do fine.

Do we even need another jobs movie?

I'm beyond the point of caring anymore. This movie shouldn't be made. Wasn't there also a "Jobs" movie with Ashton Kutcher recently? Lets continue to beat the dead horse.

Who in the world cares?

I didn't watch the first one, heard it was boring, and will not waste good money on a second one, probably boring as well. Who wants to see Steve Jobs movie anyway ?

People with too much time on their hands.

I think it all started coming apart when Rogen was cast...I'm betting this film gets scrapped.

What makes you think that? I can just see it now, Rogen Woz stumbling around and knocks a pile of 6502 chips into the wastebin as he frantically exclaims to Jobs, "where's my weed?"

Yeah, Rogen is a disgrace to an honorable and humble Woz.

Hey, you clicked it. So MR made money. So yeah, think it's working great for them.

Mickey Mouse is already in talks with Pixar and Apple. But last I heard, Mickey was holding out for more money and is also seeking a merchandising deal to put mouse ears on a red and black iPad.

I think the fact that we already have 2 movies which failed on this subject shows that a 3rd is likely to suffer the same flaming death.

Honestly, it seems uninspiring to consider a movie that essentially just covers the launch of 3 products.

I think a more interesting story would be about an average kid who gets an idea, and follows his struggles as a person as he rose and fell and rose again to become the icon he was at his death.

I totally agree. It is simply taking Steve out for one more run to bleed all the money they can from his name.
