How relevant is the actor's appearance when it comes to bio movies? Ashton did look a lot like Steve but he wasn't convincing at all, at least to me, i'd rather watch convincing acting than physical impersonation.

It's almost uncanny

the resemblance...

Maybe Sony ought to just negotiate with Fox, Universal, and Marvel for a crossover film with every recently deceased famous person from the last decade.

Steve Jobs also would have shut down the production of iPhone, iPad and Mac by now and would have turned Apple into a producer of hairnets and left socks.

Sometimes it's good that people don't follow the plans and wishes that our imagination implants into the minds of dead people.

Sidenote: The work on the Kutcher movie began while Jobs was still alive and was supported by his family after his death. The Sorkin movie is based on a biography that was created in very close cooperation with Jobs, and no "Don't turn this into a movie" Jobs quote has been reported. But hey, a Macrumors forum member of course knows best what Jobs would have wanted.

Really think you're overreacting here

The jobs movie was terrible

What did you think?

There are several actors who should play Jobs

My friend Isaac from Mexico - 70s hippie early years.

Noah Wyle for the 80s to 1996 period - heavy makeup.

Patrick Dempsey - 2006 to 2011 - heavy makeup.

Would imagine steve would rather live on through his products than people endlessly telling different versions of his story really.

I remember him when I have to use windows 8 for something and then can go back to OSX. Or when a button on an android phone is in a stupid place and I can use my iPhone.

he doesn't even look like Steve. (even a young Steve) i just can't image this person being anything like Steve Jobs.

Is this gonna be one of those things u can have 100 movies based on the original but only the first 5 are real,, the others are fake by actors not even knowing the story Steve lived?

The Hobbit was one.... The last one they did had no relation to the story at all....even though the concept was the same in the end.

By the way, nothing against Fassbender. He is a terrific actor. However, I don't think there is value in making this biopic or him starring in it.

I really don't care either way but I am curious as to why two leading men have opted out of this movie.
Three reasons actors take roles:

Money. They probably have better offers on the table.

Challenge. Job's amazing accomplishments don't necessarily translate to a character that is a stretch to play. If Ashton Kuchter could do it...

Prestige. Even an uncanny interpretation of Jobs probably wouldn't get the accolades that Eddie Redmayne is getting as Stephen Hawking. Remember Steve Allen as Benny Goodman? Danny Kaye as Red Nichols? Clifton Webb as John Philip Sousa? Neither did the Academy.

I won't be watching this one. I wonder if Christian Bale dropped out because of a bad script...

I didn't watch the first one, heard it was boring, and will not waste good money on a second one, probably boring as well. Who wants to see Steve Jobs movie anyway ?

It won't be a B movie, it's by Aaron Sorkin along with a good director and high production values.

Despite what would appear the case on here. The audience for this film is tiny.

Maybe because there's really no need to make a movie about him right now. I mean, he was barely dead and cold before they started making plans to make a movie about him. It's just an opportunistic cash grab - not being done for the sake of art or importance.

This movie would be best being made 20-30 years from now so the next generation can learn about him, but I'm sure they already have plans to do this.

I don't know... A film about Facebook ( how exciting..) played by an unknown actor.. and yet... a commercial smash hit.

This one is about a much better known figure, played by a pretty well known ( and talented ) actor. It has at least as much chance for being succesful as "The Social Network"
