One of my favorite actors, he's consistently top-notch and really tries to expand his range. My favorite performance of him is either Frank or Shame. This turned around nicely, because I do think Christian Bale both appearance and acting wise might've made a good choice too.

I didn't watch the first one, heard it was boring, and will not waste good money on a second one, probably boring as well. Who wants to see Steve Jobs movie anyway ?

Who wouldn't want to watch a movie about an egotistical corporate leader of a cellphone company who just died?

Bale took offense when the director hired that nincompoop to play Woz. He was like, "Wow. I have to emote with that loser? No way!"

Michael Fassbender is a better actor than Christian Bale... Christian probably couldn't have pulled off Steve Jobs, and I think he knew that. Fassbender and Day-Lewis probably could.

Do we even need another jobs movie?

Do we really need another comment about whether or not we need another Jobs movie?!? :p

I really think that we should stop beating the dead Jo...er, horse. We truly don't need another movie about him, especially one that only focuses on three scenes in his life.

If we REALLY do need another movie about him, then we need to figure out how to 1) Raise him again to play the part or 2) Use some really good amazing CGI for it. Neither seems the least bit plausible.

hey (noah) has (noah) anyone (noah) mentioned (noah) Noah (noah) Wyle?

i (noah) wonder (noah) if (noah) anyone (noah) thinks (noah) like (noah) i (noah) do (noah) in (noah) wanting (noah) Noah (noah) Wyle??

jezuz people, come on.. if you like that movie so much why not stream it tonight and get over it already. this is one of those crazy kooky things called a "new movie."

we get it. we do. of the two notable actors to play jobs, noah wyle was indeed better than kutcher. let's move on, shall we?

Preferred Bale cos of looks but as far as acting goes, both are tops IMO. Another actor they should consider is Daniel Day Lewis. The guy is phenomenal.

This guy, right here!

i somehow feel like this is one of the last roles d.d. lewis would ever personally want to play. just don't see him (or his agent) ever entertaining the thought.

Fassbender is an incredibly good actor. I'd still prefer Noah Wyle or Bale though, but if it's really Fassbender, I'm sure we won't be disappointed! :)

For the love of god... just pick me. I'll do it. I'll do a wonderful job Mr Boyle I promise.

I really do not want this biopic now. I actually quite like Jobs, it isn't massively accurate but like said by previous poster it did have support of those that were there and Kutcher did a good job to be fair.

Also the hiring of Rogen probably did play a part in losing Bale. You take a guy who takes his acting to very serious levels and for his supporting character cast a guy who only ever does b film stoner comedies. The most serious Rogen has done is Green hornet and I did not buy the guy for a second in it.

If "great actors have passed on the role" were a criterion for movies not being made, then a lot of the greatest movies would not exist now.

You think this is actually going to amount to anything more than a "good" movie? I'm sure it'll be nice, but it will likely be forgotten beyond the first couple days of release. Is a movie about Jobs really what the public wants right now?

I wonder if this is why some of MR subscriptions get marked as spam in my Gmail account :p

Despite what would appear the case on here. The audience for this film is tiny.

I can’t imagine it’s any smaller than the audience that was interested in watching The Social Network. Just sayin.

Maybe because there's really no need to make a movie about him right now. I mean, he was barely dead and cold before they started making plans to make a movie about him. It's just an opportunistic cash grab - not being done for the sake of art or importance.

This movie would be best being made 20-30 years from now so the next generation can learn about him, but I'm sure they already have plans to do this.

That must be why The Social Network won so many acolades. By the time that came out, Zuckerberg had been dead for ages and Facebook was a distant memory.

Wait...

Seriously let the man rest in peace!

Steve Jobs would have never let this happen!

HA! Well put!

Only if he blows something up...and it takes place on another planet...and has superhero's and a hot chick for the love interest....and a good sex scene...and a happy ending...and maybe a earthquake or a volcano disaster.

Movie casting minutia doesn't merit front page treatment. I didn't spot anyone posting that's eager to see this movie.

Blue eyed Jobs?

There are contacts for that.

Challenge. Job's amazing accomplishments don't necessarily translate to a character that is a stretch to play. If Ashton Kuchter could do it...

Huh? I haven't seen anyone say Kucher did the job well. I suppose I can dig someone up, but I'm sure that's a minority opinion.

Fassbender's best performances are in HUNGER and SHAME, both directed by Steve McQueen. Also notable are his performances in 12 YEARS A SLAVE (McQueen as well) and FRANK (dir. Lenny Abrahamson).

No matter what he's done since, i'll always remember him as Kaz Miller in 'Murphys Law' (BBC TV series). Played a real psycho-nutter gangster to perfection.
