No, it remains. Who needs 3000 plus songs on a portable device?

People who have 3000 plus songs and want to carry them all around. And there are people who don't need 3000 songs at that bitrate but need the space taken up by 3000 songs for video and other files, including a far smaller number of songs losslessly encoded.

i do. i have more than that actually.
why? because i can listen to whatever i want when the mood strikes me. and i don't have to manage or juggle playlists to rotate my content. its just all there.

In what way does the zune look better than the nano? It's thicker, smaller screen, worse battery life. Looking at the specs, I don't see anything better on the flash zune.

It looks better to my eyes and if it doesn't to yours then fair game. What the zune is offering is what I would like to have. I am no die hard fan but if the product is worthy then I'll consider buying it no matter who makes it.

where did you get the specs for the battery life?....I check all over and site say its not released it.

I would really love getting the Zune80(I'm loving the look of the interface & specs) but it won't play nice with OSX so I guess the touch will have to do.

Bless

Honestly, what in the last 25 years has Microsoft produced that was effective, practical, and tasteful? This is not a snide or rhetorical question. I challenge anyone to find one thing, hardware, or software, that was actually good at it's job.

Actually, Microsoft has received lots of accolades for their computer peripherals like mice and keyboards. I've actually used a couple with the Mac in the past. I'm not sure if that "human interface" design group also works on Zune and Xbox.

For people most concerned with screen size, the options are Zune and touch.
Sorry but there are way more that two options in the big screen market. There is the Archos 405, and 605 WiFi, Samsung P2, Cowon A2/A3, Creative Zen Vision and Vision W, Toshiba Gigabeat T(if they want something similar to a Nano but with a 2.4in screen), iRiver W10, I can keep going.

The Microsoft Surface is an extremely expensive table computer that will be shipped to retailers nationwide, it is NOT a portable media player.

You think I would reference it if I didn't already know what it was?
Although, if you put four wheels on it and a seat, I bet it could be a portable media player.

I'd personally choose the nano over the flash zune.

I think that is true of most Microsoft employees. :)

So the name of the Zune above is automatically not hilarious anymore?
