as long as they allow the option for replies in new windows. I HATE the new "in line" replies, with no option other than click the "pop out " button. the reason I USE outlook it to NOT be a web interface email client like Gmail. Come on! windows at least gets the option! Mac. Nope. just use the old clunker mode if you want that. really?

They've had many many many years to get it perfect for the Mac yet they've continued to provide a dumbed down, less feature rich and horrible UI...but hey they still charge the Mac customers the same price as the Windows customers who get a far better version of Office. I guess Mac users should feel "lucky" for paying the same price for a lesser experience.
what dont you have on the mac version....please, compare the newest versions on both platforms
because for me, on mac the office is better than on win10

Yet they cannot give option to add shared Exchange (NOT O365) calendar in iOS version of Outlook.

I already wrote what was missing in my previous post. You're the first person I've ever heard say the Mac version of Office is better than the Windows version. "Looks" and features are two different animals.

I’ve bought the iPad Pro 12,9 having in mind that apps like this will be ported to iPadOS as is from MacOS. Was I wrong ?

The new U.I is a god send - but let’s hope the belly of it has trimmed/reworked. There is absolutely no reason for an email app to be a little under 1GB in size!

The current version of Outlook pops out a window to reply to an email where the new one doesn’t. You can click on the pop out icon to make it happen, but it’s not an option you can set. That kinda sucks. Also, when I do pop out that window, it shows in the old version of Outlook.
the POP out always is the one feature Im missing from going to the "new" outlook. I dont WANT to use a GD web interface where I can have multiple emails open at once to pull information or use as a "to do" list of emails to work on.
and Im sure as S#$t not going to press a button every time, where windows get a option to do it.

It’s dumbed down, but I thought that was the appeal.

Do macOS users need 10+ different ribbon panels?

If they are an Office ‘power user’ then wouldn’t they just use Windows instead?

A massive oversimplification of course, but I can sort of see their rationale.
LOL what? So you expect a Mac user to jump off MacOS and use Windows if they are power user? You're defending Microsoft. A Mac user shouldn't have to do that, plus Microsoft is charging Mac customers the same price to be a "Power User" yet they get a dumbed down version. And no, since when is paying for a dumbed down version better?

"Do macOS users need 10+ different ribbon panels?"

You're missing the point entirely.

macOS Office is missing many features in Outlook and Excel...

People and their personas are so varied. I don’t expect anything.

But to entertain your point, I expect that if they need those power user features so much, to an extent where they cannot function without them, then spin up a Windows VM for those specific use-cases and use Outlook for Mac with everything else.

Not saying that is ideal, I have no real opinion on it, just giving you a solution.

You're defending Microsoft.

I’m giving them Kudos, in this specific instance, because the new Outlook looks quite aesthetically appealing, and simple, and complements macOS.

Apple users are stereotypically more inclined to go with simplicity. That is not an insult.

I’m not implying it’s better or worse. It’s just two different demographics.

If functionality is the only aspect you value then you could argue you’re paying more for less, sure.

I must be! Please explain.

It's still Electron. They can make it look pretty, but it's still going to be a memory and CPU hog that sucks up battery.

Edit: Unless I'm entirely wrong about that? I could have sworn...

Yes. This ain’t happening. Microsoft still sees the iPad as a Mobile device. Do not expect such apps to get developed for the iPad

Sure it looks nice, but have they actually made it any faster? It's the slowest app on my machine.

I'm really hoping for the iCloud and IMAP support. I'd rather user Outlook over the Mail/Contacts/Calendar apps separately.

They are great apps by themselves, but I prefer to have it all in 1 program and Outlook has sucked lately, not being able to sync it all.

Microsoft: We made it pretty!

Enterprise users: Can we have feature-parity with the Windows version? It's been almost 20 years since Voting Buttons were introduced in Outlook 2003 and we still don't have them in Outlook Mac.

Microsoft: No, we made it pretty!

Seriously, enterprise users just want feature parity.
