Yes, "Current Channel (Preview)," whatever that means in Microsoftese. You must be on an insider update channel. There hasn't been a general release in months.
Whatever they do hopefully fixes it. OneDrive is a hungry RAM and CPU hog, even saving a file makes the fan spin like crazy. It is highly unoptimized and I hope they fix it because it is good otherwise.Related: OneDrive is getting updates nearly daily (twice yesterday). Not sure what's changing tho.
Thanks. Think I'll wait to activate the trial until they release the final product (without the need to flip the switch).Yes, but you need to enable "new outlook" for having it
outlooks email addressing from one's contacts never makes any sense, at least to me, and New Outlook for Mac is no different. My chosen address book in my chosen email account should serve as the address book for the entire app, no? Who lives like this?
Conversation view is an absolute mess. It’s layout makes it very hard to determine what emails have been filed vs in the inbox.
I keep wanting to try, but cannot figure out how to auto-address emails from my address book. Same on my windows machine at work. That doesn't sound promising. I assume you're not making use of Outlook because of it?

Thanks. I keep my contacts in my iCloud account. It syncs with outlook but seems to only be available when sending mail from specific accounts.I never understood why Microsoft keeps pushing their own search tech and window inside my office for Mac products. Do they not know OS X’s universal search is 1000x better and turns up better search results even for ms office suite data?!
do you mean:
Address book contacts vs exchange contacts or contacts within global address book? Usually when connected to a hosted or on premises solution for corporate email the latter two are the best and most accurate options unless it’s external mailbox/smtp.
Search within mail has been flawed and regularly fails. I have submitted several reports. This uses SPOTLIGHT. The new system does not and works perfectly! This is one thing that is an improvement.I never understood why Microsoft keeps pushing their own search tech and window inside my office for Mac products. This maybe a permissions based issue between the system and the apps? Thanks. I keep my contacts in my iCloud account. It syncs with outlook but seems to only be available when sending mail from specific accounts.
I’m confused.Search within mail has been flawed and regularly fails. I have submitted several reports. This uses SPOTLIGHT. The new system does not and works perfectly! This is one thing that is an improvement.
Old Outlook = spotlight (reported for failure several times)I’m confused.
Are you saying the latest Outlook uses Spotlight or doesn’t ? What works?
Thanks for clarifying. I never used the search in Outlook, I just used OS X native Spotlight (outside the app). In Windows well force to use Outlook searchOld Outlook = spotlight (reported for failure several times)
New Outlook = microsoft proprietary search (appears to work well)
Microsoft doesn't want to admit that CardDAV exists, so they have this mangled idea of how your contacts list is going to work.outlooks email addressing from one's contacts never makes any sense, at least to me, and New Outlook for Mac is no different. I have found this as well, it has been like this for the last 2 or 3 major MacOS releases. It's the only reason I ever look for other mail apps than Apple Mail. Spotlight always finds my emails but inside the mail app...very rarely. Reported it several times but never resolved. I'm using a g-suite account so not sure if that is part of the issue.Search within mail has been flawed and regularly fails. I have submitted several reports. This uses SPOTLIGHT.
