That's cool, because we so often don't see that more human side of people like Paul Allen. We craft a mental image of who he is, and what he's like based on what we read in the trade journals, and here we see a music loving musician who just happens to have started MicrosoftR.I.P Paul
This is pretty cool...
I wonder what will happen to the Seattle seahawks. As man or never married or had kids, what will happen with his fortune and the team.
RIP, so sad.
He really wasn't active in Microsoft, he reportedly came up with the name, and helped market Basic, he more or less left the company but kept his ownership stake.
Nature does not care about your money, you can be rich and have untreatable cancer, or poor and have a very surviveable cancer.Boy if you are a billionaire and can't buy your way out of cancer, what does that say about the fate of the rest of us? RIP

Mother Nature is undefeated. That 1 out of 1 people will experience death at some point in their life.
Well, Steve Jobs tried vegetable juices and meditation. How’d that work out for him? Maybe pancreatic cancer is just a crappy disease, Mr. Wizard. And please share with us your insider knowledge of islet cell carcinoma and Paul Allen’s specific treatment course while you’re at it.Sadly another person dies from cancer treatment. When will the madness end?

He didn't 'battle' cancer - he had a terminal disease that was no doubt treated with the best standard of care. And he died, rather than 'passed away'.

Can’t help it. They’re screwing up everything. Gotta meditate more. He’s just another science denier. Let it go.

Bill Gates Mourns His Microsoft Co-Founder Paul Allen: 'Personal Computing Would Not Have Existed Without Him'I haven't seen any comment from Bill Gates! Has he made any?
RIP Mr. Allen
"I am heartbroken by the passing of one of my oldest and dearest friends, Paul Allen. From our early days together at Lakeside School, through our partnership in the creation of Microsoft, to some of our joint philanthropic projects over the years, Paul was a true partner and dear friend. Personal computing would not have existed without him.
But Paul wasn't content with starting one company. He channeled his intellect and compassion into a second act focused on improving people's lives and strengthening communities in Seattle and around the world. He was fond of saying, "If it has the potential to do good, then we should do it." That's the kind of person he was.
Paul loved life and those around him, and we all cherished him in return. He deserved much more time, but his contributions to the world of technology and philanthropy will live on for generations to come. I will miss him tremendously."
Ahhhh Thank you.
Somehow I missed that. But thanks. Still a bit under the weather here.Did you read the article?
Or, like SJ, be rich and have a very survivable cancer turn into an unsurvivable cancer through bad decisions...Nature does not care about your money, you can be rich and have untreatable cancer, or poor and have a very surviveable cancer.
There are several. Here are a couple:I haven't seen any comment from Bill Gates! Has he made any?
RIP Mr. Allen
BTW, Paul Allen was also a Mac user. Thanks Paul for your contributions. Though I use a Mac and most likely will never use a Microsoft product, your contributions, either directly or indirectly, are still there in every piece of modern computing.
