Love the display panel, don’t really get all the „transformer“ thing, but maybe I‘m just old. Good to have the 3050Ti option, but at that price? 😅 Talking about price, two USB ports is an insult. And take that „18 hour battery„ claim with a big grain of salt. That laptop has the same battery capacity as an M1 Pro, with hardware that draws 50% more power in idle and 4-5 times more power under load. If Microsoft gets 12 hours that will be a win.

I am not sure why, but I have always been interested in the Surface Duo. Should I get the Surface Duo 2 and return my 13 Pro Max?
It's definitely an intriguing device, especially for Android/Windows. I had a Nokia Lumia 1520 Windows phone a few years ago and loved it. Even with the complaints from people about apps, it had my bank, excellent GPS, and office/dropbox stuff and communication/social media, so I was happy.

Fast forward to now, and you've got the entire Android Play Store, which is huge for Microsoft. The problems for me personally are the width of the device and the cost. $1800 for a phone should be getting me a 100% flawless, finished product. And with bezels and no front screen compared to the Galaxy Fold 3, I'm just not sure this is it. Still, it's an interesting device, especially for a power business user or someone with a solid commute who can game or watch movies in the folded modes.

It's always great to see innovations and new products. The Surface Duo 2 is cool! I think, Apple must follow the steps of other companies, bringing innovative products, instead of making movies, TV series, etc.
why not both? remember is not Apple making movies...the directors and producers etc are...Apple is just the money investor

camera bump is an phenomena now, everybody is using that..battery case is an optional and its magneticaly attached
Microsoft is going backwards and shows that cooling pads are still a thing with intel, while Apple is embracing the future
Who cares. We're talking about how good looking it is.
My socks may be hidden by my shoes and trousers it doesn't change how ugly they are.

There are times when the Fans on my MacBook Pro are going like the clappers. A cooling pad would extend its longevity and I'd rather have the option.

Which meaning of phenomena are you pointing to?

It looks like a cross between an iPad Pro and an Acer ConceptD.

But that hump on the bottom.............
Yeah, and it doesn't sit flat when it transforms to a tablet.
It's very thick, with vents at the bottom. Just at the beginning, seeing the animation of a coil motor was enough to alert me it's a hybrid laptop that wants to be a tablet. Just ugly. And this video ad follows the same format of Apple's video ads. Let's wait for the real reviews to come up.

That design is odd to me. Who wants to use a laptop where the screen is covering the keyboard? And 10 pounds? Ouch.
10lbs? Specs say 4lbs(i7) and 3.8(i5). I think it looks pretty appealing from a usability standpoint. I like the ability to use windows apps as a tablet, but with ports available. I always thought the SurfaceBook had awful ergonomics as the detachable screen made it really top heavy. Basically it compromised everything trying to be everything. But I know many that love it.

The best take away I saw on the video was the 2 TB4 ports. I loved my Surface Laptop3 with the exception of no TB so it limited the things I could share with my MBP. I've since added the Thinkpad Nano and never looked back. I carry both the Nano and my M1 and it's less bulk than my old 16". Even though it's a bit more weight, it's worth it to have a dedicated Win10 machine after using Fusion for years.

Certainly ugly, but no worse than the camera bump on the iPhone or that ugly battery case you can get for it.
The camera bump is needed to house the camera lenses. How else do you think they could have achieve a 1.8 aperture?
Perhaps making the phone thicker, then people would complain about it.

MS Foldable phone looks nice, but it looks huge. And those hinges and connectors inside... let's see how long will last.

This looks great and I am considering getting this. Kudos to Microsoft for always taking risks even if it does not always work out. Apple should be ashamed of themselves.

I had a Surface Book 2 and loved it, though the OS had power drain and wake/sleep issues. Since moved onto a Mac + iPad combo and I'm happy.

The Studio Laptop looks interesting but... way too bulky/heavy.

Surface Pro 8 looks really good though.

Probably just bugging me because I'm a designer, but they spent all that time and money on fancy animations/renders and dynamic camera movements ... then all the typography looks like a first-year student overlaid everything in PowerPoint. Yikes.
