I never understood opera and why people use it. The 2-3 people Ive met in my life that use Opera swear by it almost in a cult like fashion but couldnt articulate to me why exactly do they like it.

I've been using Opera for years now. I like it because it's not Chrome, and I'm not a fan of Edge or FF. It has always worked well for me. I did use Safari when I owned Apple products. I'm hoping to own Apple products again one day, maybe after the CEO change if it all goes well.

They have actually reversed this somewhat. Lots of junk has been removed.

Not nearly enough.

My biggest issue with it is that they absolutely will not allow you to get rid of the new tab page. And that page is by default filled with absolute garbage.

That plus all the other intrusive stuff like shopping. It's just like the rest of Windows now. It can be made usable by going through a ton of settings and turning off most of the garbage that can be turned off. But they haven't met a bad idea they didn't like when it comes to just shoving in absolutely anything they think can make them some money.

This kind of jank is why Microsoft lost the browser-using public long ago. A completely avoidable self-own driven 100% by hubris. Reminds me somewhat of the idiots who pushed CurrentC for such a long time.

No need for a Microsoft account? I’m sure that signing in with your Apple ID will either connect it to an existing Microsoft account or create a new one. Where else would your synced stuff be stored?
I do have a Microsoft account from long ago when I ran Windows. If it comes to a point where signing into my Apple Account connects me to my Microsoft Account, I will delete my Microsoft Account.
