And me, because I have to administer Windows machines on a daily basis. If only OS X or Linux were used in enterprise, I would have a much easier life (and my fellow sysadmins too). 90% of tech support complaints I get are about viruses or some error only Windows machines can get ("my Windows update stopped working error code 0x0008bfawhatever").

They do use Linux in enterprise.

And your dreaming if you think that Linux admins do not have their share of issues.

If your machines are getting viruses, or your letting your users run updates/install 3rd party software you have failed in the setup of your network/rights. You will encounter the same issues with OS X.

We allows certain users to have admin rights on thier machines, the caveat being that we do not support their machines if they install software and break things, we will just refresh the machine. Every machine has virus/malware software installed.

I love how people get defensive when Android users say "welcome to X number of years ago, when we had features X,Y and Z" but then say the EXACT SAME THING about other companies that are adopting OS X's features.

Welcome to the tech world.

Apps that run in a window. Apps from the Windows Store now open in the same format that desktop programs do. They can be resized and moved around, and have title bars at the top allowing users to maximize, minimize and close with a click.
Wait, let me get this straight...

Windows 10: Now featuring apps that run in windows.

It has officially become a bullet point that Windows can put things in windows. With a title bar and everything! Sorry, but while I understand exactly the multi-touch-enabled series of missteps that lead here, that has to be the most hilarious piece of technology news I have read in a long time.

i find it funny how anyone who tries to give an opinion of anything always starts off with "i work in IT and..."

anyone who says that here definitely doesn't work in IT

Some do, and some do not....

Though reading post "I work in IT and..." you quickly realise if they are talking BS or just very very very junior without a back ground in IT.

There are many IT strands also, Infrastructure is just one of them. A lot of people who work in "IT" have no idea about hardware and OS systems, they are just a tool to get their job done.

Multiple desktops... like... the feature Mac OSX has had for years? And all of the great new improvements are just normal old features they brought back. Fullscreen apps open the same way desktop apps do? Woah. Revolutionary.

How do PC users not recognize how far ahead of windows OSX is?

And Linux has had multiple desktops for years, WELL before OS X. Blah blah blah, Apple didn't invent the wheel bro.

So, that means if I said it my 16 years in IT doesn't count!? Say it ain't so!!

I'm surprised they named it Windows 10. The only legitimate reason they probably named it that way was to match with OS X. I mean they could of named it Windows One or just Windows. They even said that this is the last release of Windows, meaning that they will increment by 10.x just like OS X lol.

But we all have to agree that games run best on Windows no matter how hard you try to disprove it. Shame that OS X can't get the same performance. Either Apple drivers suck or developers don't bother optimizing their games. I will always have to dual boot using Bootcamp. I mean that's the only reason I run Windows in the first place.

According to the article Windows 8 has 11% market share of all Windows machines, i think Apple has already more than that. I'm sure Apple loves to be in the position it is now. :)

What?! Your considering the market share of windows 8.1 against Windows itself and not the entire market???

Reality check - even though windows 8.x was deemed a failure, still has more users than OSX.

Apple would like to have as many users as windows 8.1 - more computers sold.

Well, due to Direct3D being an exclusive to the Windows platform that's generally why. Big development companies stopped doing much with OpenGL years ago and shifted to Direct3D, blame them.

Well, since they can't wait to hear what I think... Let's see, the "new" features are as relevant and innovative today as the dude's haircut. They both made the debute sometime in the previous decade and have been polished and cut to size (pun intended) by the competition. Nothing new here. Looks like they basically reintroduced windows 7, crammed "metro" into a smaller window, added all the useful stuff from OS X and skipped a number to make it look like they were actually working on something this whole time...

At least they brought back exciting new features like "search" and the "window-resize-thingy"... And now that all the hard work is done the users can figure out the rest. Nicely done.

And if you can't wait to use the features in Windows 10 already, and can't tolerate unfinished software, buy a Mac, and start using OS X now !

Seriously...

"Microsoft Windows 10! With even more of your favorite OSX features built right in!"

And how come mac users dont realize that mac OSX is based on, takes ideas from linux.. im not bashing anything, just saying.

What's that saying? "Shots fired...." ?
