that looks loads better than Windows 8. While this is only the preview, it looks like they finally got it right.

Love the new start menu/tile/metro for desktop.

Multiple desktops... like... the feature Mac OSX has had for years? And all of the great new improvements are just normal old features they brought back. Fullscreen apps open the same way desktop apps do? Woah. Revolutionary.

How do PC users not recognize how far ahead of windows OSX is?

Yes, however Mac also did not get full screen right for years. Remember full screening an app if you were running a dual setup? It rendered the other monitor useless with a grey canvas screen...

Yes. On CNet, I was joking that they'd call it "Windows X." Instead of using cats, they'd use dogs (Windows Coyote) and place names in Washington (Windows Walla Walla).

There not skipping windows 9 it will be a upgrade to windows 8 for free. windows 10 you will have to pay for it in full.

Demo this:

What the demo guru really needed to show....
...was getting work done, while making an appointment for a haircut.

By the time Win(de)X gets to proper beta, that dude is going to have the hair equivalent of a pirate's eyepatch!

The guy with the funny haircut didn't mention it, but Windows 10 is supposed to integrate across all platforms - phone, tablet, PC, etc

Seeing how ugly and messy the UI for Windows 10 is, I've never been more happy to be a Mac user … OS X seems so much sleeker, and the Apple toolbar at the top is a godsend. I despise the 'toolbar per window' interface that Windows has.

So this is Windows 10, coming in 2015, as a version of stuff you could do on your Mac in 2012/2013 with the last 2 big cats.

If Microsoft wants everyone to upgrade to 10 then they should follow Apple's lead and release the desktop version for free.
BTW I wonder if I can boot the latest Windows 10 natively on my Mac Pro 1,1 unlike Yosemite which doesn't. Probably not because the quad Xeon's are 64 bit.

Windows 7 was great. If they wanted to change it they should have left Windows 7 and just added Metro as an option. Metro should have never been default and they shouldn't have toyed with the desktop user interface. Windows 8 / 8.1 is actually the sole reason I jumped ship to OS X

Spaces was in many Linex OS BEFORE apple used it.

So no, they are not just copying Apple.
