Looks like Apple Mail.
No, definitely looks more like an Office 2013 product.
Looks like Apple Mail.
It looks like it is still missing the biggest problem with all versions of Mac Outlook / Entourage going back since the Classic >> OS X conversion: native MAPI protocol to talk to exchange.
It's still a glorified web front end for Outlook Web Access, and suffers from the same issues.
Outlook for Mac back in the day actually used MAPI, the same as Windows. Why can't we have this?
blogs.office.com said:Office 365 commercial and consumer subscribers will get the next version at no additional cost, and we will release a perpetual license of Office for Mac in the same timeframe.
Did you launch Outlook by clicking on the icon in the dock? That will launch the 2011 version. To launch the new Outlook for Mac, you can either do it from Launchpad, search for it using Spotlight, or go to the Applications folder in Finder and launch it from there.
This is ridiculous. Only available to Office 365 subscribers? What about users with Enterprise Agreements for Office 2011 for the Mac? We paid good money for the product and to have MS withhold this upgrade from us is unconscionable.
You specifically have to have an Office 365 subscription that includes Office as well. We utilize Enterprise E1 here and have separate licenses for Office and we can't get it.
Does this mean they will finally fix OneNote? It's laggy and lacking in features on the Mac.
Uninstalled already. Pretty much looks the same as 2008 (bad fonts, same functionality). Just feels faster. I guess I was hoping more like Office365 web version.
Anybody know where it stores it's database locally? I don't think it's using the same database as 2011 did (I'm not seeing file date changes).

I'll answer my own question.....looks like it's in ~Library/Group Containers
So guessing we can remove old database?

What would possibly be the improvement to the existing suite? A new splash screen perhaps?
I bet they add a hundred new buttons and move useful things deep inside the labyrinth of secret doors and passageways they construct for no apparent reason.
I bet you still only have the basic super saturated 6 colors to highlight text with. You know, the colors that print so dark you can't read the text underneath?
Maybe you get a free Zune with every upgrade. They have got to have a warehouse full of them.

If you no longer need Outlook 2011, you can go ahead and delete it. You can also refer to https://support.office.com/en-in/ar...fice-365-dbea7d44-b212-4d8b-85bd-2722ca671c0f on running 2011 along with the new version.
It looks absolutely nothing like the 2011 version, unfortunately. It's a copy of the ugly-ass Windows 2013 version.
Calm down! Second half of next year is when vaporware is always scheduled for release.Second half of 2015 for the rest of office? The Microsoft Mac team has been sitting on their hands for 4 years.![]()
We have O365. Downloaded and installed. You can connect to a local Exchange host, just choose the 365 option, and then put in your username/password, and it'll find it.
Overall, meh. To me it looks like a polished up version of 2011 from a UI standpoint. Everything else looks and functions the same as 2011. Not impressed really.
