Im very impressed with excel, can anyone tell me if you can install inclould documents in iCloud ?

Mine took about 15 minutes, slow but no where near what you're seeing.

Does anyone know what happens if you stop your subscription, does Microsoft Word or Office in general stop working, will it still work but lose security updates? I can't find the answer anywhere on the website.

I'm not referring to the test program, I mean once the Office for Mac 2016 official program is released.

That's interesting. I'm using Word and Excel--with Excel just sitting in the background. Excel is pulling 85%, while Word is barely registering...

Strange - opposite of me

The download URL isn't working... First it starts downloading, but then drops to 0 b/sec. Any mirror or could someone throw it to mega etc.

Am I allowed? Don't wanna get banned.

Depends of the link I guess. There were earlier previews on some sites which you don't want. Make sure it is the new one. Finally completed here.

One of the joys of modern Mac apps is that I can shutdown my Mac without worrying that my wife will lose data. Modern Mac apps continuously save, and after a restart they come back up exactly where you left off without user intervention. Except that my wife uses Office 2008, so that doesn't work at all and I have to guess which changes she wants saved in order to shut down.

Do the Office apps behave like modern Mac apps in this regard? Or do you still get asked to manually save? That feature alone is worth a subscription to me.

It still asks. I just tried closing without saving and this came up:

...and I'm not sure what the "Compatibility Mode" thing is. It's a docx...

Agreed. At work we have to use Office and I utterly despise the Ribbon. Worst UI ever made by anyone on any app on any platform.

I too very much dislike the ribbon on my MacBook. It is usable (if cluttered) on a squarish monitor at work. They need to make a sidebar version of the ribbon for people who value their vertical workspace.

Yup, their servers are really screwed up right now. PLEASE SOMEONE UPLOAD TO MEGA.

Thanks. That's a huge disappointment :(
Yes it is, but not completely unexpected.

I'm glad to see that MS has made the preview available now... and probably not so coincidentally since it was about a year ago when they released Office for iPad... those 365 subscriptions are about to be up for renewal. Mine is soon.

Requiring Yosemite is a deal-breaker for me at this point. Looks like I'll be letting my subscription lapse, and continuing on with iWork 09 and LibreOffice.

Can't find the "Customize Keyboard" option in Excel. Anyone has idea? Also, does the Excel offer the "Key Tips" as it does in PC version when press alt key?

Thanks guys!

Hopefully Microsoft prices it fairly high so that they make a healthy profit so they can maintain sustainability and keep improving their products. I'd like to see them make as much money as possible. :D:D

Sorry, I couldn't resist. :D

Right. Just add some grifting/vigorish rake on content distribution and retail transactions and they'd mimic the Apple business model.

Snap! Can't open Outlook. Crashes immediately. Oh well. Hence the preview tag.

When I opened Outlook, it forced me to upgrade the database before using and, for some reason, close Word. But then it worked fine. Not sure why it's crashing for so many others.

I'm on a 2014 MBP retina i7, 16GB.

Probably a subscription based office-365 payment solution only. Which practically excludes everyone who just use this program sporadically and not one a daily basis....I'll guess I will just stick with google docs and the old office package.
