Well, it says each build expires in 60 days so as long as you keep upgrading your build (which is says happens automatically), you'll be fine. And the last build will last 60 days beyond the new release. Since I have Office 365, I'll get final release the moment the preview is over.

If you've bought Office 2011 instead of Office 365, you're right, you wouldn't need this necessarily. But to me, 365 is totally worth it since you can get it on sale for about $65/year and that includes unlimited storage in OneDrive. To me, it's a steal at that price.

Ah I see.

Pass

Thanks but I'm happy with Open Office, Pages, and TextEdit, Numbers on occasion. They do everything I need. My Mac is an MS free zone and I like it that way.

With Office 2011, many users were frustrated that the Mac shortcut keys were not the same as the Office for Windows shortcut keys, so Microsoft has made all Windows shortcuts available on the Mac. Users already used to existing Mac shortcuts can continue to use them.

Finally!! Window shortcuts is a killer feature! It takes 5 times as longer to do anything on Mac Excel compared to Windows because the shortcut keys are not the same. Power Excel users don't use a mouse.

They are still 32 bit apps! Really, Microsoft?! In 2015 still putting out 32 bit apps for the Mac when 95% of Yosemite apps are 64 bit?

CPU usage

Just checked CPU usage in Activity Monitor
Word 65%
Powerpoint 70%
Excel less than 10%
Outlook less than 10%

Odd that Word and Powerpoint are using so much CPU

rMBP 16Gb 2.5 GHz Intel Core i7

Just checked tonight.
Word, Powerpoint and Excel are now using negligible CPU
Can't figure out what may have changed

Opentype features

So do we get opentype support? Like real small caps, fractions etc.?

That's interesting. I'm using Word and Excel--with Excel just sitting in the background. Excel is pulling 85%, while Word is barely registering...

Huh. I didn't know about the 20k file limitation. Currently, I'm syncing all my Office files, all my photos, all my videos and my entire iTunes library without a problem...but maybe I'll have one soon!

I've currently got 21,780 files in mine which is a personal account rather than a business account.

Has anyone got any solutions yet for fixing Outlook? Just crashes straight away on both my Macs!

Try running the app through an app called "permissions reset". It might help. I had similar problems with the Outlook 2015 preview app.

Just found a mirror download link. Much faster now. Anyone kind enough to post the MD5?
Could you share the link?

Yeah, no. I work in a relatively large enterprise (approx 3000 people, 2500 in the US) and we use Office with Exchange and Sharepoint. Google Docs just doesn't cut it for us.

I work in a very large retailer (60,000 employees), and we use Office with Exchange and Sharepoint too. As i imagine most company's do in the 'real' world!
