You're missing the point. Microsoft is taking credit for the hard work and creativity of another company. They failed to create an equal solution in-house so they sought to BUY a pre-made solution.
Is anyone getting a username/password error when trying to add an iCloud email account? I got the password right...but I do have multiple emails - a me.com an iCloud.com and a gmail.com linked to the same Apple ID
Am I doing something wrong?
My first reaction to this was, "It's 2015."No support for Exchange Server 2003.
Following up on my own post. Are you sure? The Accompli app didn't when we checked it out. If it's client based, how does it implement things like rescheduling emails? Any documentation?
So all your mail and other information flows through their servers. This also implies that they will store your login credentials on their servers:We provide a service that indexes and accelerates delivery of your email to your device. That means that our service retrieves your incoming and outgoing email messages and securely pushes them to the app on your device. Similarly, the service retrieves the calendar data and address book contacts associated with your email account and securely pushes those to the app on your device. Those messages, calendar events, and contacts, along with their associated metadata, may be temporarily stored and indexed securely both in our servers and locally on the app on your device. If your emails have attachments and you request to open them in our app, the service retrieves them from the mail server, securely stores them temporarily on our servers, and delivers them to the app.
If you want to use this app for your work email, I'd strongly recommend to make sure that your IT department is OK with this. Some email accounts (ones that use Microsoft Exchange, for example) also require that you provide your email login credentials, including your username, password, server URL, and server domain.
After downloading the apps to both my phone and my iPad, I had a lot of problems adding my exchange account to them, regardless I was at home or on the VPN or on the corporate network... I wasn't able to connect at all...
Then I googled and found this:
https://support.office.com/en-us/learn/outlook-for-ios-and-android-faq
In the search field enter: MDM
Can I connect with an MDM profile?
At this time if your email server requires a MDM profile on the device, our app will not be able to connect.
We are working with the leading MDM providers to enable support for MDM in a future release.
So its back to Mail.app on iOS.
Is there any way to add a Comcast email address? Unless I am missing something, it doesn't look like you can.
My guess is that the limited type of accounts is due to the way the app works. If it indeed is that emails "pass-through" their servers, then their servers are probably configured to get mail from the current list only.
I wonder if this will suck as bad as Outlook on every other platform (including Windows)?

This was updated on Jan 28, so it's apparently current. Here, we find some information about how your information is handled. Two quotes:

I sure wish there was a down-vote on this forum. I consider myself a power user, and I get by just great with Apple's apps for Mail, Calendar, and Contacts. I've only seen and felt pain in an Outlook-centric setup.
I started using Acompli about a month ago to get push on gmail (didnt want to use the app) and it quickly replaced my default mail.app. Just a few things with this new version that seem different for me.
- Archive/Delete. with acompli half swipe archives while full swipe deletes. With outlook i can only archive. Even though the screenshots in this article show the full swipe delete. I've gone into settings for swipe but don't see an option for full swipe gesture. Hoping this is an oversight. everyone having this issue?
Thanks for the reply.
Anyone: When I swipe right to left on an email I wish to delete, I am only getting the green archive option. How do I swipe to get the delete?
is this app going to run in parallel or in competition with Acompli?
I'm pretty sure it is replacing Acompli.
Apparently Acompli uses middle-man servers to cache your emails, monitor your mailboxes and push notifications to APNS, just that it uses Exchange ActiveSync to connect to your Exchange server. Are you sure? The Accompli app didn't when we checked it out. If it's client based, how does it implement things like rescheduling emails? Any documentation?
seriously, are you guys able to log in to your icloud email account??
It supports Outlook.com.You still need to have an Office 365 Business Premium subscription to make it work. From what I can see it doesn't give you a whole lot more than the standard Outlook.com email which is free. Unless you use Outlook at work I think there are better options for iOS users.
