You have GOT TO BE joking with that one. Apple still havent sorted mail in the fourth service pack of Mavericks.
But don't you think Security Essentials could have been programmed to add certain exceptions to certain viruses so the machine becomes infected therefore having you either service the machine at a windows store or buy a new machine all together? My norton did it once, my computer got a trojan, good thing I had an install dvd and nothing important on my hard drive.
Times change, I remember when Apple was the one bashing and M$ was the top of the hill, who would imagine that they could switch places!
Did you read that on the internet? Funny how so many mac owners who would never use windows, but know so much about it?
No, I'd do this too if I were in Microsoft's position. People know about the iPad, not the Surface.

Oh the hate.Many people want to have one device instead of lugging around multiple devices. It's as simple as that, they are catering to the people who want ONE device to do it all, not multiple.
and please don't give me the "an ipad is so light, I have no trouble putting it i my bag", because it's really not the point.
You can just carry the MacBook Air, which already does everything, just like all the college and high school students. The iPad is pointless if you already have a MacBook Air with you, and I've never even seen anyone carrying both.

Norton is a total scam. It probably just missed a virus on your computer. If you can't trust Microsoft's own security software not to intentionally let viruses onto your computer, I don't think you can trust anything, including the Mac.
Track pad.
They honestly forget everything about the track pad. If it's how apple says that laptops stay laptops and tablets should stay tablets then they do an amazing job at keeping the laptop how it is. You have the same functions in the trackpad like on a touchscreen like pinch to zoom, rotate, scroll, etc. And Mac also runs Office and Adobe programs

This is something that needs to be spread around more, and it's been a long time coming but is finally fixed - out of the box malware/virus protection on Windows.
It's the first thing I download for a windows install.
Coming as part of the vanilla install is a good move from Microsoft.

But this is just stupid.
I LOVE the Surface Pro 3 ! I really do it is such a capable device with it's only downside being windows 8 which is a crapfest.
The real problem and why The Surface keeps failing is not the product which is up there as equal best on the market with the iPad in my books and kicks the crap out of the Android offerings ...but Microsoft keep targeting teh wrong competition.
You will not beat the Mac Air as it runs a better operating system. Instead they should be marketing this as being the best laptop on the market and not try to take on Apple.
tell people they dont need that HP laptop and that Samsung tablet. Then you will do better... but they will not take on Apple with the selling point of it is a laptop as people will only ever see OSX vs Windows and theres only 1 winner there.

This is true. It's not designed to compete with the likes of Nod32 and Kaspersky. But the thing is, it's really all most people need. As long as you've got enough know-how not to install every fishy thing you come across on the internet, you're good 99% of the time.
But you still have to move the mouse to the thing you want to click. Much easier to touch. and it's not like the track pad or mouse was removed; they are still available.
Isn't that the problem though? Easier yes, faster no, and the SP3 is supposed to be 'more productive' than an iPad/Laptop. At least that's the impression I get from watching their commercials.

Oh, it's way faster. I don't use the track pad or mouse anymore for clicking things. Instead of moving my fingers back 3 inches, fudging around to move the mouse and pressing, I simply move my fingers forward three inches and I am done.
yeah but it's kinda contradicting when they say "it's a tablet" "and a laptop" because power users and the average person even knows that a macbook is a real computer, whereas the surface isn't. Most people i know would much rather have an 11" macbook air than a surface, and those are people that aren't even tech savvy. I'd rather use photoshop on a real computer is my point, not a tablet.
The SP3 is as much a "real" computer as the MBA. Hell, they're practically sporting the exact same hardware.
And while this is pretty open to opinion, most people would probably have a better experience with Photoshop on a stylus equipped tablet than they would on a traditional laptop, depending on what they're doing.
i actually liked it when it first came out. I was over it for like a week. The coming ios8 and yosemite are too good to drop mac for a surface.
No, it can't run more video games than the Surface. What makes you think it can?
The MBA has a slightly better GPU, doesn't it? It won't run more games, but it'll run the same games slightly smoother than the SP3.
