I manually ran "Check for Updates" and there was an update to the Auto Updater application. Once that was installed it then presented the updates to the all mac Office Apps.

Gaaaawd, it's so annoying that AutoUpdate doesn't download it, and what's worse is that I have no clue where to look to see if there is an updated release.

It showed up for me in AutoUpdate yesterday. Granted, I checked manually. Also, AutoUpdate itself has been updated.

The most obvious change to me came in Word: pinch to zoom, finally!

MS has fixed it. Auto Update has been updated to v 3.1

Yeah, my AutoUpdate got the upgrade tonight too.

Now, is this a hardly used feature in the big wide world, or is it something that just particularly like and use a lot: the paste icons and previews in the context menus?

I must use that at least 30-50 times a day when I'm posting between apps, and it's a lifesaver.

Why on earth haven't MS added that to the context menus? It is really really p!$$ing me right off.

I've been using the preview (mostly Word) extensively and I'm happy with it. It's definitely not ready for prime time, but it's good.

I've been give alot of feedback on both positives and negatives. I wonder if they really read it.

One bug I reported that Word 2011 suffered from is an inaccurate word count for large documents that only updated once you scrolled through to the end of the document.

This is interesting...

Cool! Wonder what "soon" really means and how many preview builds will there be yet, but from my experience it's almost ready for prime time. Why doesn't Outlook still support full screen mode is beyond me, though.
I'm just upset that even Microsoft on their official Twitter can't get "its" vs. "it's" right.

More tweets today. This may be just a marketing thing but apparently Office 2016 is nearing release candidate status.

Word is crashing on my iMac all the time after the latest update. I had to revert to Office 2011 to do some serious work. I hope Microsoft is joking when they say that the new Office is almost ready. This isn't the case..

Something it is really missing is the ability to delete a message (or replay) from the Outlook new email notification banner. Wasnt it there before? Can't remember.

Outlook for windows does that and also Mail for Mac, why is that so difficult to implement?

----------

One more thing...in windows by doing Alt+Tab you can switch from one window to the other. E.g. if you have oulook open and you are also composing a message they will show as two separate windows when you press Alt+Tab.

OSX has a similar function (Cmd+Tab) but it will only show apps, not all windows. i.e. it is impossible to go back to that email you are composing, you can only go back to Outlook. Is there a way go fix this? Going to dock to access that window is a waste of time, i would like to do everything with keyboard.

Yes, I would love for Cmd+Tab to show *all* windows.

Another thing that irks me with OS X is that when you're in an app like Word and want to open a file it does not give you the option to only see word files. It brings up eeeverything, including stuff you cannot open in Word. Is that an OS X fault or Microsoft's?

What was wrong with it?

I gave up on this preview after too many crashes and that Outlook doesn't have the one feature that I want - sync'ed calendars.

For me it asked for my exchange account passwords every second despite me checking the "save in keychain" box and made it completely unusable.

Try Cmd+` to switch between windows/documents in the same Office application.

I think the reason they haven't got fullscreen Outlook is due to the fact that composing a new email, or double clicking emails opens a new window. They need to change this to be more like the windows versions so a new window isn't required then they could do full screen mode.

I have to say, I've never taken a beta/preview this seriously. I have sent almost 20 reports (both good and bad) when I encountered bugs, issues, or jus things I didn't like.

I really want to help this software be the best it can. I wonder if they really read the reports?

Feature parity with the Windows version. This is really annoying me. A lot of things that have been in the last three editions in Windows versions are still absent from the Mac version.

Annoyance No 1: context menu showing paste and formatting previews. I do a huge amount of copy-pasting between Excel and Word and that is a massive time saver.

Annoyance No 2: why retain the stupid icon button look for the few icons in the Home Tab when the rest of the programs have the flat look.

Thanks, will try but what I want to do is slightly different: i want to switch from say Firefox (so not within Outlook) to the email I was composing. Right now you can only switch to the main Outlook window.

I found a fix to this, if you switch the notification mode from Banner to Alert you get the option to close or delete the msg. Close works fine, Delete there is a bug, when you click Delete it deletes the email but also takes you back to Outlook which defeats the purposes of using the Notification to manage the incoming msg and keep doing what you are doing.
