It's probably the same droid responsible for removing/adding/removing firewire from Macbooks. The purpose ? Because he can. :D

I think it was a stupid idea to remove the ExpressCard. Instead they gave us a SD card slot. How lame. They should have kept the ExpressCard slot and made a multi-card reader card to sell. ExpressCard 2 is out now. Maybe in future Macs?

Sounds like they've got some nice ideas in their stores, like this one...

Are you guys going to keep bashing them for trying to make money (Apple's stores are only there to make money as well) or are you going to think about what they've got on offer and visit if you live close?

It would take less time to go to the World of Goo website, purchase the game directly from there, for whatever you are willing to pay for it until the 25th October, and download it; on Mac or PC.

1. Walk into Microsoft Store (make sure you aren't accidently walking into the Apple Store)
2. Go on the computers
3. Set homepages too Apple.com
4. ?????
5. Profit!

Come to think about it the only black people I've ever seen actually working in an Apple store were security guards. Are they Apple employees or from another company?

I am a Mac user but plan to buy and use Windows 7 as my main OS--after all--all software is created for Windows and some ported for Mac as an afterthought---but I don't know where to purchase Windows 7? Is the MS retail store the best place or will they still be swamped like in the video?

What a wonderfully original concept! I can't understand why no-one's ever thought of doing something like this before. Such innovative store layout and design. And as for the concept of the Answer Bar - well that's just a stroke of genius.

Best post on thread.

For fun, let's all go into the store absent-mindedly, and then ask them where are the new iMacs and iPods. When they tell you they have none, yell loudly, "What! What kind of Apple Store is this?!" and storm off.

Isn't much to do in Canada, eh?

It's one thing to copy someone else's hardware... and software... but when you have to blatantly copy how they sell stuff -- that's just creepy.

And to not really be selling non-MS stuff is just plain weird.

I know there are those here that are saying "MS-haters, what's the big deal? Don't hate the competition!" But c'mon! You have GOT to admit that is very Superman-Bizarro World kind of stuff that Balmer & Co. have come up with for these stores.

Can you imagine the pep rally that happened BEFORE the store open with the Management telling the employees how to yell/scream/chant when the doors opened. I'm telling you, I would be embarrassed to work in a place that was such a complete copy (albeit a 10-generation Xerox) of the Original.

Think about this -- Apple plants their flags everywhere and have such marvels of architecture for their major stores (London store, NYC's stores) -- we will never see that type of care put into these things. These stores are simply there to give MS computer owners a place to call their own (a club, so to speak).

All I know, it's not the wood floors, the glass walls or the product posters on the wall... it's the PRODUCT. And Apple's are second to none.

Can't wait to walk into a real computer store soon, marvel at the new 27" 16:9 iMac and walk out a few dollars lighter -- that's the experience we want. Buying Hardware and Software that makes our work and relaxation a dream.

lol. You guys are such fanboys bashing the store.

Fanboys? Of course, but what does that have to do with bashing the store? Bashing the store is happening because this is all just so juvenile my gosh. The store looks exactly like an Apple store from layout to texture. The people that work there are even dressed the same, give me a break! For goodness sake, it's the same right down to the line of workers clapping as customers enter. Even that was an original thought of Apples. It's like it goes back and forth between corny Google and Microsoft about who's going to steal what next. It has nothing to do with being a fanboy, its just incredibly annoying. Have some originality or fall out of the race like a man sheesh.

I am sure you can find a copy at your local swap meet.

The thing is Safari, and every other browser, will just hard lock and I have to force quit it. Then the crash reporter comes up and I submit. I had a text file to just copy the "what you were doing info" each and every time.

I know Adobe is looking into as well. I have a basic ADC but how much more attention can I give to this problem?

My bigger problem is that I can't keep my Spotlight comments. The only way to do that is upgrade from Leopard. I've tried Time Machine, Migration assistant, and even just copy/paste from an external hard drive.

They also took out the column view when doing a Spotlight search. That's another gamebreaker for me.

Nobody cares. Go whine to a 10 year old kid with cancer and tell him how hard you have it. "Waahh wahh, you're gonna lose me apple if you don't fix spotlight. My life is ruined."

get over yourself its a ***** operating system.

They should have a "wet" Answer Bar, where Windows users can get drunk and remember the good ol' days back in 1995.

Unfortunately that would be more appropriate in an Apple Store. Windows 7 is easily the best version of the OS that Microsoft has ever released, while Snow Leopard is like one step forwards and ten steps back for Apple.

HAHAHAHAHAHAA ANSWER BAR!!! When I worked for GeekSquad I got reamed all the time for not knowing why something was the way it was. My excuse was "I'm sorry ma'am/Sir, but Im not microsoft, I'm just here to help" They can't say that!!! This is gonna be freaking hilarious!!!
