if anyone can advise me, IView attachment 954335View attachment 954335 am having an issue where Outlook is not showing the option for choose as default app.

I've had that happen occasionally under iOS 13 as well. Outlook seems to get stuck occasionally pushing updates and can start working after some time or occasionally after reinstalling Outlook. The old widget just says 'Open Outlook', nothing else anymore for me, since I updated to the newest version.
The widget that's there although mine has generally been used for events. The widget that shows if you have emails from 8 people, but not the actual email? All the way in the left home screen that is just as annoying to navigate to as it is to scroll through?
This default app thing is really good for companies.Apple's Mail is perfect. If you need other mail programs e.g. for your job, you should of course be pitied.
In my job I work on the PC with Outlook, and I always wonder why this is so f*** bad.
With Chrome it is exactly the same: Apple's Safari is simply the safest and fastest. Why do I buy a Mac and then install this common junk. To support Google?
I don't understand why this discussion is not even finished. About many other things you can have very different opinions, but criticizing Mail and Safari is a very bizarre hobby.
I loved the Mail app until it quit delivering mail 😂I love Mail...but "perfect"??? I guess that depends on how you define perfect. The Mail app hasn't functioned properly for nearly a year now... far from perfect. I switched to Outlook on iPhone last year, and haven't looked back. Mainly because it actually works.
Are you me? LolThe Apple Mail app doesn't send me notifications when I get email, it's only when I open the app that I will get 10-20 emails all at once. Because of this major error in how the app functions (hilarious that some find it "perfect") I am looking for a new email app and maybe Outlook will work best for me, we will see!
Outlook does not support shared Exchange calendars. However it does apparently do this for O365, but not a regular Exchange account still. Our company uses Exchange 2019 and cannot access a common shared calendar via Outlook on iOS. Outlook also is bad at searching and managing contacts on iOS. The only mail app I seen that supports shared Exchange calendars is Nine for Android and co-workers use this with success, but the Nine app for iOS lacks this feature... I asked them a couple years ago and they said was coming soon LOL.Sorry but if you company uses Exchange........Outlook app is far better than Mail. Not to mention that mail has been having problems with notifications for a while now.
And integration between Outlook app with other Microsoft apps is perfect.

Then you must have done something wrong. I have all (many thousands of) mails for several decades (because even in times before iCloud, all Apple Mail versions were able to generate excellent backups of the database) in Apple Mail and find each one in fractions of a second on all devices.
I call something like that perfect.
Like Outlook, but.... still waiting for S/mime digital certificate for signed emails, Mail (ios) is the only that support that option.
You have described one major topic quite well:Well, chasing it as a default app for mail doesn't work properly. clicking on an email address in Safari opens Apple's new email popup.
Not even remotely. I had so many issues with notification for my gmail and outlook accounts not notifying me of new emails, so I ditched it for Outlook & Gmail's native apps. I tried going back to Apple's native Mail, and it's still buggy as hell. Are you going to ignore the many many people that have also raised this issue?

Yes it is, but it cannot be placed on the Home Screen. What universe is that? The previously existing widget is still there.
That's true, for the moment. The new iOS version was just released and updates are just starting to come out for various apps to take advantage of new features that the new iOS version supports. Not sure why it seems so unexpected that all apps somehow don't have support for all new features the very same day that the new iOS version is released.Yes it is, but it cannot be placed on the Home Screen.
Yes, I understand that, but Microsoft has been extremely slow in supporting new iOS features. Just have a look at trackpad support for iPadOS in Outlook. Still missing..That's true, for the moment. That may all be as it is, but it doesn't quite seem it's all that related to them somehow not having support for new widgets for iOS the day a brand new version of iOS that supports those has been released. At the same time here they are actually releasing and update to enable one of the new features that was just introduced.Yes, I understand that, but Microsoft has been extremely slow in supporting new iOS features. On Desktop Outlook, even the fast insider version doesn't use the macOS notifications for calendar events. There are no widgets on macOS. No integration with the OS..Just the basics.
For some people that might be ok, but for me this is unacceptable.
Then they just added it back (which they did on ios14) on ios recently, because it was not an option for quite some time via ios..And i have plenty of apple devices - since day one smart assYou can. Simply select all and "delete" (menu or mouse). That's not a 'weird hack method' for me.
But you must first buy an Apple device to love it ;-)
I am trying to set Outlook as my default email. I set everything up properly. However, when I press on an email it opens up the Apple Mail app instead.
On my iPad Pro I was able to fix this by deleting the Apple Mail app. However, I need to keep the Apple Mail app on my iPhone so I can use it on my watch (as it handles e-mail formatting better than outlook on a watch screen).
Can anyone replicate what is happening to me? I am curious if it is an iOS 14 bug or a bug with Outlook. Anyone try with a different email app?
