Corny videos made by amateurs. Problem with Microsoft is simple and you see it in many of their ads, they don't have a compelling product to offer or a story to tell. Think about it. Every ad is dancing, fighting, or trying to make fun of a competitor. They have no compelling argument for you to buy their product so they try to hide that with ridiculous ads.

If someone got up after watching that ad stating they want a Windows Phone, I'd be shocked. Wasted money and resources once again.

Microsoft is loosing it... why pick on apple? the best target whould be there own.. and that whould be funny

Things they didn't mention...

Touch ID actually works, and apparently Apple thinks well enough to entrust the iTunes account to it. It's 64 bit, which probably doesn't mean much now, but will when H.265 comes in... next year... and you could stream in 4K, maybe? It gives a little speed now, and more later. The chipset will show up in the Apple TV. 64-bit makes it possible to stream to higher-def screens. Or screens of many definitions. And then there's the coprocessor. And iOS 7...

Of course, look at the Lumia phones. What were their colors? That's right.

Pretty embarrassing for Microsoft that Nokia had Android working on the Lumia, isn't it? In order to stop them from dropping Windows Phone 8, they had to buy the company? Just sayin'.

I gotta agree with the ad. What the hell has Apple been doing the last 6 months? But unfortunately, the iPhone 5C/S will not flop. People will once again line up in droves. I don't understand it. They're not bad phones, but their not innovative.

You said it dude 'I don't understand it'
You dont need to understand, only the people who like it and wish to buy it, need to understand.

Rubbish, Just like most of your comments. If everything was open source then we would all be spending 5 hours a day cleaning up all the viruses of our machines. And while you may have technical knowledge to do something about it 80% of people don't know how, want or care how a computer works.

A lot of open source projects are bugged to hell and have zero support. XBMC is an exception to that rule but I still prefer the closed source plex as a total solution.

As a dev, I make zero money on open android pirate hell and a ton of money on iOS.

Oh and basically your last paragraph says you don't like haters, but right at the start don't get a. iPhone!

I agree -- I have a Mac at home, but I use Linux at work; writing various programs to do my calculations, and despite having that programming knowledge and familiarity with that OS, there's no way I'd use it at home. I want my stuff to work without having to debug/hack things together, I've got enough things to worry about at work, I don't want to bring it home with me, trying to get my iPhone and iPad and Mac to work with a Linux box.

my first thought was actually tim cook
Mine wasn't Cook but it certainly wasn't Jobs.

Seriously... if they really wanted to depict Jobs you'd be seeing a turtleneck collar on that shirt. The rabid fanboys here always crack me up. :D Of all the crap going on the world to get worked up over...

If this video was done by MS, that is really really SAD.

Have you ever noticed how MS & Samsung, constantly have a go at Apple in their ads, putting Apple products down, but Apple pretty much never do, they do what companies should do, which is focus their ads on what they believe to be so good about their own product.

And if these videos were done by collegehumor no one would have anything to say about them.

Seriously, if that is supposed to be steve jobs, whats the big deal?

One would be done by a humor based website, the other a billion dollar direct competitor. If you can't see the difference..

Have you ever seen the "I'm a PC, I'm a Mac" commercials?

Everybody loves gold! Pirates, Leprechauns, this dude...

And the part about Apple giving users the finger... print scanner.

I thought it was kinda funny actually. But it doesn't make me want to "switch"

You guys are way too thin skinned. Yeah, the "Get a Mac" ads treated MS with great respect, didn't they?

pfffftttttttttt

Mac: I come with iLife... great software like iPhoto and iMovie to organize your photos and edit home movies

PC: I come with calculator and clock

I wouldn't say that is disrespectful... it's just kinda telling it like it is.

You never saw a Microsoft commercial touting Windows Movie Maker, right? :D

YOU need to watch them again. Consider the casting of the 'PC' and the 'Mac'.

It was also clearly meant to represent who uses them. If you're unable to acknowledge that, there's nothing I can do for you.

"Hi, I am a Mac"
"..and I am a PC."

I think it's time you get introduced to the concept of personification.

In this commercial, the bandaged PC (portrayed by John Hodgman) is talking about how a user tripped over his power cord and sent him crashing from the desk to the floor. What human user sits on a desk with a cable plugged into them?

In this commercial, the PC laments how he's about to undergo major "upgrade surgery" to swap out his ram, graphics card, processor, etc.. What human user has a surgery to swap their ram, graphics card or processor?

Make fun of the dead guy who was emaciated with cancer. Yeah. Good move, MSFT. What moron ok'd this campaign?

Let's talk Innovation

You know something?

I'm sick and tired of everyone expecting Apple to hold the world's hand every quarter and walk them down innovation road. Innovation isn't something that can be horse-whipped out of a company by the likes of twenty-seven year old wall street analysts and their employers who apparently missed the boat when apple went through a revolutionary phase in tech history. You can't force innovation...it comes when it comes.

So, F you analysts who have no understanding of long term investments anymore, long term holds, long term thinking...big picture if you will. You can up and down grade all you want, but some companies defy your taunts by just doing what they do, how they do it. And who gives a pixel's ass what you think...

Everybody loves gold! Pirates, Leprechauns, this dude...

Meh, I thought it was kinda funny actually. But it doesn't make me want to "switch"

Switch to what? :D

The only phone mentioned in the commercial was the iPhone.

Microsoft is really bad at commercials. They forgot to talk about their own products...

I'm all for a funny video. Hell, I even chuckle at the Samsung ones sometimes, but these were all just so cheesy and forced that I cringed while watching most of them. This makes me almost want to cancel my Xbox One preorder lol

The Mac vs. PC ads heavily relied on opinions formed years before when Windows actually did suck.

Clearly you forgot about Windows Vista, an operating system that when released, caused PC owners (including myself) to exclaim in one voice, "Eh, I'll just stick with Windows XP for another half-decade." The Mac vs. PC ads began around the same time as the release of Vista, so I'd say the opinions shown in the ads were pretty timely.

I've seen junior high and high school video productions that were funnier and better than that.

Pathetic, embarrassing. If I was a fortune 500 company exec and that came out of MY company, I'd fire EVERYONE who had ANYTHING to do with it immediately.
