Apple Forever

Another sample of slipping American integrity, I am sure a lot of Apple Haters will enjoy it.

No, you usually mouth off when you're desperate. You'll notice Apple stopped their "I'm a Mac"/"I'm a PC" ads when they realized they didn't need to compete against MS anymore. Apple doesn't run anti-android ads. Honda doesn't run anti-Chevy ads. You only do that when you're not in first place.

How about not being predictable? Jony Ive parodies aren't new and really aren't funny anymore. Be original MS!

wow.

Time to fire the marketing people in charge of this campaign.

Insulting possible customers and not indicating how your phones are 'supposedly' better is just sad.

Tim has white hear, the guy in the video is Steve...microsft should be ashamed. Cant belive it.

you know, some of the ads that Samsung or Microsoft makes against Apple, I kinda enjoy because they can be funny, or just outrageously stupid of what their arguments are. But this is just sad beyond all belief.

The "Tim" in the videos is clearly referring to Tim Cook. Why would anyone think the person with their back to the camera was portraying Steve Jobs?

shush, keep it a secret, MR needs the clicks...

I agree w/ you, saw it and though of Cook, unless Jobs came back from the grave to discuss the 5S and 5C (right MR writer )... the writer here on MR has gone too far this time to get clicks and comments, which makes him/her sadder than the stupid video.

While lowbrow and surprising that a corporation did this to knock their competition - I did chuckle a few times because - let's be honest. Some of it was pretty funny whether valid or not.

I can understand why some people here might get all bent out of shape about it.

I can't for the life of me how anyone would think the figure at the table would be Steve - let alone Johnny Ive. And if they were going to call him Timbo - perhaps grey hair would have been better.

It is a metaphor....
No, its not.
The execitives look alot like Steve and Ive, and making fun with someone who died is sick.

And yes, they make fun of him, because he is listening like a retarded their ********.

I gotta agree with the ad. What the hell has Apple been doing the last 6 months? But unfortunately, the iPhone 5C/S will not flop. People will once again line up in droves like nice little iSheep. I don't understand it. They're not bad phones, but their not innovative.
What were you expecting? And there's nothing wrong with "they just work" - that's why most people buy them in the first place.

If the executive in the videos is intended to resemble Steve Jobs, then they would appear to be in very poor taste. It's not at all clear how the videos -- which don't ever explain how Windows Phone is better than iOS -- help Microsoft achieve its stated goal of getting users to switch to its platform.

This is what the once-mighty Microsoft has been reduced to.
Cheap shots.

What ever happened to the idiotic Gates + Seinfeld shoe shopping concept?
Where are the old, illogical, totally fake "Mojave Experiment" Vista ads?
Come on, Microsoft. Put the "Wow" back in advertising!

That character they call "T" or Tim is clearly supposed to be Steve Jobs.

These ads are just dumb. Nothing clever about them. Now it's just getting bitter, vindictive, and desperate for Microsoft. It's sad really.

Yeah I noticed them calling the guy who looks like Steve, "T" ... but come on, Tim doesn't wear black turtlenecks and his hair is mostly grey.

The fact they've shown a stick thin figure who resembles Steve at his most gravely ill is poor taste.

it's funny because apple started the colored plastic consumer electronics market craze over 10 years ago, they then went on to create the current aluminum consumer electronics craze, which everyone is trying to copy/emulate.

meanwhile microsoft created XP, their most well recieved product over 10 years ago, but since XP they've had Vista, 7 and 8. I guess it's time to resort to cheap shots about color and materials because their software (which is what microsoft is known for) can't seem to get with the times.

also look at your newly acquired phone company nokia, which also makes plastic colored phones. but wait! theres also a brushed aluminum version, to stay relevant with the waves that apple makes.

This is an advertisement? Really?

I usually don't criticize Microsoft for poking fun at Apple, however this is just so poorly done that it demands to be criticized!

The unspoken rule of advertising is that you can poke fun at your competitors when they have the upper ground. However, if you are going to do that, then at least do a good, classy job.

This looks like something a random employee put together for an internal video. If I were Microsoft, I would be ashamed at having such a poorly done video get out into the wild. The script makes no sense. I vaguely get that they are dissing Apple, but its so obtuse that its nearly incomprehensible! The audio quality is terrible, the footage looks like it was shot on a camcorder. It's just embarrassing in all aspects....

I don't understand why you find it necessary to post these types of comments to quite clearly infuriate people on these forums...

While there is some truth to it, these are pretty shoddy and would convince no-one at this point. Microsoft's desperation is pretty apparent at this point.

So much defense for a person you never knew....

Either way, there is no guarantee that the executive portray in the video is SJ. Even if it is, I see it as a metaphor... the entire clip is full of sarcasm.
