Some people just aren't very bright. I.e. Microsoft's customer base.
I wouldn't say that. I've met all kinds of users while proselytizing for Apple

D) and I've met many people who have never heard of Macs, people who used the old Macintoshes back in the late '80s and forgot about them, and people who have heard of Macs but know nothing about them whatsoever. I'd say a large majority of people use Windows PCs because they're simply unaware that there's lots of other stuff out there. The conversations usually go something like this:
Them: I need a new computer...what kind should I get?
Me: (grinning) Get a Mac!
Them: A Mac? What's Mac?
Me: You know...Macintoshes...Apple computers.
Them: Oh...Macintosh...I used one at work back in the '80s. I didn't like it because it didn't work with any of the software for our other computers.
Me: The Macs have changed a lot since then. There's Mac versions of a lot of software nowadays, and if there isn't a Mac version for a particular program you need, you can install Windows on the Mac and use it that way.
Them: Really? Well then if you have Windows on it, what's the point of getting a Mac? Why not a new Dell?
Me: Because the Mac operating system is more stable and is less prone to viruses and malware. Plus it's easier to use.
(later.....)
Them: My daughter said Macs don't have floppy drives. I have about 2 milk crates full of floppies in my office that have lots of important crap saved on them.
Me: That's true, they don't, but you can buy a 16-gigabyte flash drive and transfer everything from the floppies and still have space left over.
Them: Really? All that stuff on that tiny little thing? Well, how much is a Mac?
Me: It depends on which one you get. (huge grin) The most expensive one is the Mac Pro. If you configure it with the most expensive components from Apple, it goes up to about $20,000. You do want that one, right?
Them: NO THANKS!!!

What's the cheapest one?
Me: The Mac mini...see this is it...you can attach your monitor, mouse, keyboard, speakers to it without having to get new ones. It starts at $599 but since you use all that media software, you should probably get the 2.26GHz processor upgrade and 4 GB of RAM. Now it comes to a little over $1,000.
Them: Well, that's about what I paid for my Gateway awhile back. Awww, is that the mini? That's cute, it's so small!!!
You get the idea.

(Apple should be paying me for all the free advertising I do.) It's just a shame that the Redmond monopoly has reduced many people's idea of a computer to a "Windell" box at Walmart.
