Ever?

Seinfeld reminds me of the mid 1990s. Kinda like Microsoft...
Yes. This ad was weak. Microsoft needs to stop worrying about their image and take that 10mil and make a better product. When the majority of computer users are running MS and they make the switch it's because they realize how much of a nightmare vista is. Make a better product then do commercials.

I really don't get this ad at all
I watched it 4 timesand still don't get it. I may be a little drunk from last night but this was a waste if time.

Maybe they hired the same folks that put on the republiscum convention. Great stuff...
LOL.That would be George W's speech writers.

I believe something I've heard the kids saying lately is "EPIC FAIL"

I think that applies here!:D
You are right. Failure is MS's only option.

All that dialogue and a mysterious reference to cake... this in no way entices me to see more. I will admit that I was curious about what Seinfeld would bring to the table, since he always struck me as a Mac guy - maybe since there were always Macs in his apartment on the show!

Fail.

Some things never change?

Bill still buys the same crap shoes he did before he had millions
Windows is still a piece of crap after pouring millions into it?

perhaps the ad company was a Mac centric company and decided to take the piss out of Bill?

I don't think we should forget these are two very smart guys...
One built a multi-billion empire on an untested technology and the other, I believe, reads scripts in an amusing fashion. Your point is?

I can see Apple's response to this ad...

The Mac and PC come on stage. The PC character is dripping wet and the Mac character asks: "How did you get so wet PC?" and the PC character responds: "Didn't you hear Mac, Bill figured our problem, he told me that if I would stand in the shower with my clothes on everyone will learn to love Vista" Then the Mac character reminds PC that water and PC's don't go together very well just before PC explodes.

That would be a great commercial.

Does anyone know the top 10 most negative voted articles over the years? is over a 1,000 normal?

not sure if anyone has seen this article, but I found it quite funny.

http://news.cnet.com/8301-13506_3-10033667-17.html

I'm a consumer and I work for a large company . . . to try to say that this ad attempts to give 'Softy a "nicer" "kinder" face is way off base. I don't get nice and kind from "shoe circus".

The article is as wrong as the commercial.

The folks who buy PCs are, on average, suits that work for corporations or the corporations them selves and they will not appreciate Jerry's humor. The home computer user the purchases a PC is more intent on finding a low price then anything else and this kind of commercial does not imply that there is any value to paying more for a computer that has the hardware necessary to use Vista.

The only way M$ is going to remove itself from the Vista trap is to work its way out by developing better software.

Seems too clever for their own good, I imagine there will be a lot of very confused consumers after viewing this ad.

Could you explain me what you find so clever about it? I'm not from the states so I guess I miss some cultural clues or something. Is there supposed to be a joke hidden in the ad?

I rather have the feeling they are working on Gates his image instead of that of microsoft or vista.

That is the lamest ad I've EVER seen ...

If this is indicative of what Microsoft is going to do with this new ad campaign to try to counter Apple's successful "I'm a Mac ... and I'm a PC" ads, this is going to be a total flop for Microsoft and Windows. A complete waste of money.

My gawd ... this ad is awful.

from above link said:
The first phase of this campaign is designed to engage consumers and spark a new conversation about Windows

There's more to come...?

People who buy Windows will continue to do so because that's what they're going to see when they go shopping.

I can't wait for the second part of the campaign.

Microsoft Ad Campaigns

If the Shoe Circus commercial and the Mojave Experiment Campaign is what $300 million gets you, then I think Microsoft is getting ripped off........but then again, I am sure that is how many Vista customers felt after upgrading.

Just wish Microsoft would have hired me......I am cheaper than $300 Million and could have given them more than this.

Not even worth a comment...

This shows just how lame Microsoft is...... they can't even make a funny commercial... even if they hired one of the top comedians in the world.... they should be embarrassed..... and Apple should just be disgusted that their competition can't even put up a good fight ( the fight to make memorable ad campaigns-if their is one).

On the other hand, imagine all the Microsoft heads slapping each other on the back, laughing real hard... you know the kind of laughter that says 'this commercial sucks, but I better laugh to keep my job'?!

That was the most disgusting and stupid commercial I have ever seen. I was actually scared Microsoft was going to attack Apple in these ads. Glad to see they are completely clueless.

Commercials don't necessarily need to be funny or make sense to be effective. Look at all of us, we are talking about it... that is really the only point.
