Any one else in the are or states having the same issues? Calling CSR but have spent 10 minutes on hold so far.

yep having all the same issues. and also on the hold with CSR now. grrrr...
was finally able to run a speed test - a pitiful 0.04 Mbps. argh.

Edit - got through to CSR. all they had to say was "yes, i'm seeing that we're having problems in your area (NYC & surrounding area), and yes, we're working on it. please wait till tomorrow and it should be fixed."

gee thanks.

Once again, the 3G is there but cant load Appstore, no internet and when it comes up its slower than dialup. Others in the surrounding work place having the same difficulties.

Having the same issues here in Philadelphia Pa.

Edit - Just got off the phone with CSR and they are stating that the service outage is due the the weather hitting the east coast. So I asked for a credit and they credited my account $30.00 for my trouble.

Anyone else notice that when you call (611) now (from your iphone), the first thing that comes up is, "If you are having problems with your wireless device call.... APPLE TECH something". Haha, it funny how they're pointing fingers, I bet it due to the huge increase in iphone problem calls...

I had data outage all day yesterday including VOICE AND SMS outage for about 5 hours from 6 - 11 PM, here in Toms River NJ. (central, coastal Jersey)

Today all seems to be restored, 1.0 mbps on testmyiphone's speed test.

Gee when I was with Verizon , I never ever had problems with Data and the weather was never ever a factor. I have read that GSM is more fussy than CDMA but for a CSR rep to state that it kinda makes you think twice.

I called my local corporate store and the rep said there's allot of people waving BB's and iPhone complaining of outages for 2 days now, he said to wait it out and he would txt me when things were calmer

I'm in the NYC area and still having issues... no data for most of yesterday, and no data again on my commute into the city today. Right now I'm in my office in midtown manhattan and it's very very very very slow.

Uptown right now and it's not GREAT but it isn't so bad.

You guys must be congested downtown.

Things are looking good this morning...

3G was much better for me this morning at home in NJ - in fact the fastest i've seen it at 1.17 Mbps (according to testmyiphone.com for whatever that's worth!).
I'm in midtown Manhattan now and it looks like I have 3G here too for the first time in a few days. Only 0.52 Mbps but hey, i'll take it what i can get! Hopefully this keeps up.

Data this AM seemed significantly better. Riding down to work on the bus, signal was strong and data response seemed snappy. Network still exhibits flakiness in terms of lag at odd points. I'm assuming this is due to tower handoffs during the commute.

here in central jersey, I've had 3g service all day so far even in my building which never happens. So, possible the services is better but it also could be the fact that it's Friday and people are off. Oh, and I restored my phone last night so it could be just a quick placebo effect.

Here in Western MA as well the service seems to be slightly better since the outage. I've been registering about 1.2 mbps on 3G. But I agree, the handoff from tower to tower is still a problem. And in this area 3G coverage is still spotty, so the phone is in EDGE mode most of the time.

Anyone experiencing issues this afternoon? I'm having the same problem as last week - I have 5 bars and an EDGE logo, but can't connect to check email or use Safari (or any other apps requiring connectivity) but SMS works fine.

Yup, having the same problem... on hold with AT&T right now about it...

Same deal

No data in brooklyn...???

Full(ish) bars on 3g!

Edit: Apparently JUST came back...? Maybe it was a "localized" issue...

No data here in midtown Manhattan...can't connect at all. I'm having to use more and more texts because Email is unavailable so often...I think AT&T should pay for those extra texts...not me.

The AT&T reps don't know what to do... they are transfering calls to the iphone support group at apple. I didn't feel like waiting on hold again so hung up on it. I'm in midtown, and I can now check my email... so it might be working again.

Hey guys, I'm from central NJ and was having the same issue. I called apple, and the tech had me reset my phone and turn off airplane mode for 30 seconds and turn it back on. After that I'm back in business! Well for the most part...if I could only get it to start syncing again using our Juniper SSL VPn that'd be awesome :p

Thats the same error i was getting, try the procedure listed in my post

I tried waaaay before I posted... It just came back... while I was texting my wife back and forth about baby names.

What's wrong with "Dorkas Gail"?

I am trying to connect in Charlottesville Virginia and keep getting the same error messages as on 9/4/08 during the data outage. Text still works but email and Safari are a no go, been this way since about 315pm.
