It's back, just north of NYC for me. Except it's REALLY slow. Testmyiphone.com shows 67 kbps, when i've been getting 1400 kbps+ steady for the last month. Hopefully it'll clear up by tomorrow so i can get traffic reports.

It seemed to be kinda random on non-iPhone users, but some WERE affected. I know of a few people on Blackbjacks and Treo 750s who had no net access this morning. Then were others who could send e-mail, but not surf the web. Others, vice versa.
The only constant was that if you were on an iPhone you were SOL this morning. It also seemed like laptop card users were universally unaffected.
RIM went down, not Verizon. So, it didn't matter if you were a Blackberry user on Sprint, AT&T or Verizon, you were out of luck.
Oh here we go with Grandpa here thinkin he's got all the experience in the world just because he's lived longer than everybody else... Why do I waste my time...
"please double check that it's factually correct" - Pardon? What is not factually correct about his statement? Are you disputing the existance of the Apple iPod touch? I can assure you that it does in fact exist. I think if you spent more time posting useful information rather than picking out words from sentences and then sticking them together and putting quotes around it and then crying foul, you'd actually be a valuable contributor around here and you might, just might, learn a little something. (Remember, no matter how old you are, you still don't know everything!)
I haven't had 3G, ever, not once since the day I bought this phone and I'm in Washington, DC. Edge works though. It doesn't matter however as this event was the final straw for me - I'm returning to 1997 (Palm Treo 755p) and Verizon Wireless tonight. Outdated, crappy, ugly OS? Absolutely. Fully functional? Absolutely. I can't play Super Monkey Balls or whatever on it, however, I can count on it. I fully intend to purchase an iPod touch after 9/9 (waiting until then to see if new generation touches are released as speculation has indicated maybe the case).
It's weird, but I seem to be having problems with my 3G and EDGE data signals here in Beverly Hills. Anyone else on the West Coast feeling this?

I'm in Brooklyn too but it doesn't work too well. Email doesn't work. Google takes a good few minutes.

Bits please. This is why I don't post to forums... I'm so retard. What model is that BB? What year was it released? It looks older than my mother.
I've had a cell phone since about 1996. I believe that's when I got my first one. I forget the model but it was a Nokia on Sprint PCS. I started out with my first smartphone which was a Treo 600. (Sprint). Then went to a Treo 650 on Sprint. Then went to a Samsung i7XX (iForget the exact model, it was WinMo) on Verizon. That experience lasted about 1 month before I went back to Sprint and my Treo 650. Shortly, very shortly there after I went BACK to Verizon and of course had to get a different 650 because I was switching carriers. After that, I went to a Treo 700p on Verizon. Then I tried out a 700w on Verizon for about a month before returning and going back to my 700p on Verizon. Then, I finally found my soulmate, who just happens to pre-date Christ, in the Treo 755p. That's who I had prior to this 2nd Generation iPhone debacle and that's what I'm going back to tonight!
And that only covers the PERSONAL phones I've used. Work phones include numerous BlackBerries with way too many numbers to bother writing here.
Now, having submitted this information, am I worthy??? Please, am I now worthly???
Hartford Area, CT - No EDGE service this morning from ~6:00 AM to 1:30 PM. It noticed that it started to work around 1:30 today.
Kinda pissed it wasn't working around 7:30 this morning when I was doing my Spanish homework! What's the point of paying for data if it doesn't work when I need it to!?
Edit: There's an AT&T tower ~200 feet away from the school, too! I had 5 bars all day long.
