How flimsy and easily bending MBA M2 chassis feels like compared directly to MBA M1?
Also it would be interesting to hear comparison to MBP 14" which to me felt a bit flimsier than MBP 13", especially bottom plate felt like a bad joke.
I’m not gonna purposely try to bend it, but it feels extremely sturdy to me.
Just as sturdy,if not more, than the 2018-20 design

Yeah but when I take it on site to show customers photos I have to hotspot to my phone to see them properly.
Would rather them on board. I thought I would have 70gb left which would be ok but system data at 28gb doesn't seem right as I didn't do a back up or anything and my iMac only has 5 anyway.
Why not get a small portable external drive? Will that work for you?

For those bothered, "TopNotch" works with 1 click and you can still see everything as normal up top without having to activate any float time via the cursor. I don't plan on using it but wanted to test it so that I could rightfully comment on its ability.
Great little app. I installed it in 10 seconds and did one click and it works like a charm.

I’m sure I’ve asked somebody this before (May have been you) and discovers you can’t buy them in the UK, but what’s the leather under the keyboard - and please let it not be eco of leatherette ie pvc
It's a high quality vegetable tanned leather desk pad from Grovemade - https://grovemade.com/product/leather-desk-pad/?initial=552

They are based in Oregon in the US, but they ship internationally. The leather is not cheap, but they do have some less expensive options as well.

I love the new Midnight. Congrats to you all who have received M2 MacBook Airs. I have always been in to black products. I wrapped my M1 Air and M1 iPad Pro in black…the Midnight is so tempting… View attachment 2031252
Nice photo! Thank you for sharing.

You are desperately in need for Apple Polishing Cloth :)

There is definitely nothing flimsy about the M2 Air.
How did you test that?

I myself use simple test to see if chassis is bending easily.
I place the computer on even surface like a table and I open the lid and then with my left hand I press down on the left side palm rest corner down and with my right hand I gently lift right palm side edge underneath. And I don't mean using excessive force to cause damage or permanent bending but just to feel if that side lifts from the table with little force. Using this test for MBP 13" feels solid as a rock, it cannot be bend with reasonable force, however MBP 14" bends rather easily, about or even more so that MBA 13". Disclaimer - If you try this, you do it at your own risk!

Yeah... I don't make a habit out of testing the bend quality of the products I own. I just... use them as one normally would. There's nothing questionable about the quality of the M2MBA.
My point for this type of test is that if machine bends easily, it could happen during transporting it, handling it not so carefully or slight accidents. Also very thin chassis tend to be "noisy", like keyboard or trackpad sounds are louder and hollow, all these cause machines like this feel cheap to me.
