even if it is 2x the photo. How big is the average photo library? A few thousand?

Yeah true , regardless the 64Gb still should be good for most. I know I had tones of pics and it seemed like I always had 35gb+ storage left. I will make a decision before pre-order time because right now on my 6 Plus I have 40GB left and I have all the apps I use plus over just 500 photos.

64GB is a ton of space. Photo library's will be fine. On the high-conservative side, we are looking at 10mb per live photo here. A photo library of a thousand live photos would take roughly 10 gigs or so.

I would try my hardest to have the order placed within 15 minutes of going live. That gives some cushion and should assure you will have it on launch day. Since this is an 'S' cycle, they should have more supply to meet demand. Except for maybe the rose gold.

Yeah its the only way to go if you are dealing with a contract. AT&T is terrible when it comes to pre-order but if thats the only route you have then good luck.

It's either that or buy the phone from Apple and pay full price; $849 vs $399.. Going that way means getting the phone unlocked and not being locked in to a provider, AND being able to deal with Apple instead of at&t. It might be worth it.

so I have never done a purchase on the first day. I am unable to save anything as a favorite in my iPhone apple store. Should I use my Laptop/iPad or iPhone to order. Which is the fastest? I have already entered by credit card information. I know what I am buying. Thanks for tips to a novice for first day order.

I believe the Apple Store app... At least that's what I plan on using.

I would say order with your iPad/iPhone using the App Store app. Make sure your shipping and billing addresses match and know what you are going to order and with using the app you should be able to get through and place your order within the first minute. Especially if you have TouchID.

So if waking up at 3am is not in the cards, if I wake up at 7/8, I'm guessing the phone will no longer be available via AT&T? If it's not, how long would restocks take?

When using TouchID to order does your credit card have to be able use Apple Pay? Or is it that just a means to not have to enter the password..

Yeah the card you use would have to be linked with Apple Pay in order to use TouchID during checkout.

Well.. I'm not sure how this going to work. I plan on using my credit union card that isn't supported with Apple Pay yet, I have Chase credit cards that are under Apple Pay.

In my billing payment for the Apple Store app... It's using my Credit Union payment information. But I'm wondering if I purchase using TouchID that it would use my Chase Credit Card instead of the billing payment that's in the Apple Store app.

Not sure what to think now.

When Apple says the iPhone 6S will be available at 12 am PST, does that mean it'll be available at 3am on the East Coast?
Yes, because 12 AM PST is 3AM Eastern
Its always 3am EST....
I'm being a punk but I like to point this out when I see it. Currently we are in Daylight Saving Time so the correct time will be 3AM EDT to order your device. EST is during the winter from about November 1st to April of the next year. Not necessary I know, but felt like pointing that out. Don't get too upset with me. :)

6S 128 GB in silver.. just unsure if buying from Apple or at&t.. at&t kind of sucks, but if you want the subsidized price, that's the way in..

If buying subsidized for AT&T, don't they raise your phone bill by $30 or so dollars a month?

If you use apple pay it will use your chase cards. It clearly will say "use apple pay" when you go to checkout.

Not sure how it could be raised, because it's always been the same rate.. presumably part of the bill is higher than it needed to be because you're paying off the balance on a subsidized price phone, but my plan is $69 a month for unlimited data, 400 anytime minutes (I have over 2500 minutes in rollover minutes so that's not an issue for me). Texts are 50¢ per text, but I have a free app for texts that uses a different phone number.

So.. in my case. Should I then turn off TouchID if it will default to using Apple Pay? I was just under the impression that using TouchID would simply bypass the password. Similar to what Amazon app does with TouchID and use the payment information I have on file.

Well since its confirmed that the live photos will take up 2x more space than normal photos I feel that will put an extra strain on the 64gb model. It seems like everyone goes for the Space Grey thats why I'm staying away from that and going the 128GB Silver route.
Your current photos won't have live photo in them and the feature can be turned off if you decide not to use it.

That's what they told me when I asked about subsidized pricing. On the flipside, if you bring your own phone or purchase through Next, they will discount your phone bill by $30 or so.

Yea it seems like alot of people are going for the Space Grey model. I am going for the boring 128GB 6S Plus in silver.
If for some weird reason i can't order the space grey due to demand i will get the gold 128GB S plus

Do a dummy run to be sure, but the app usually will default to "pay with apple pay". You can cancel that and still "pay with touchID", which should be the cards you want.

I'm one the fence between space grey and gold. I had the same problem with the macbook and went space grey, but I wish I went gold....
