My Bluetooth Mighty Mouse has been good so far. My friends on the other hand has problems and is very uncomfortable to use. Scrolling ball issues.. he's cleaned it many times but, it tends to get still get stuck. I never cleaned mine and it's silky smooth.

MM also a design flaw

There is also a design flaw in the MM that results in the bottom falling off and batteries flying everywhere about twice a month! This happened both on my iMac and MP. Ironically the best mouse for me is the blue-tooh, MS Laser Mouse 8000 which also is rechargeable.

I felt so guilty when this product didn't satisfy my needs. It feels like cheap plastic and the functionality is frightening. The nipple is FAR too small and the side buttons inaccessible; requiring aerobatics and unnatural hand squeezes to activate.

Since using Macs I never had a mouse at all. And with the multitouch technology, I would not be surprised external multitouch trackpads replacing mice... the multitouch trackpads will look like mouse pads.

And while people are discussing one, two, three or whatever number of buttons... how about no button: One or two finger tap can do the trick. And designated areas can be used like function keys.

I seem to be in a minority, but I love the mighty mouse. Being left handed, I find the symmetry of it great, and the scroll ball is much, much better than a wheel IMO.

All those problems with the ball would probably be easily solved if they just made the darned ball bigger :)

I got so mad with my wireless mighty mouse that I bust it. Now I have a Cirque Glidepoint and my repetitive strain (yes, another problem with mighty) is getting better. Bad on Apple - for no comments on this very poor design - all good looks and no function! The best they can do is suggest to turn the mouse upsidedown and rub the wheel. Hey, I hadn't thought of that complex procedure.

I really do recommend the Cirque. I have the one with four buttons. You can up/down and side scroll with the pad.

In my opinion, Apple have just spent too much time and effort on the iphone and neglected everything else. OK, but it is a disfunctional piece of kit. All looks and no action. Where is the MMS, where is the 3G, where is the 80Gb? I'm quite pretty myself - but I have to work for a living. Get it?

I didn't think that this post would take off like this -- seems to be a bit of a "hot button" issue for Apple users -- pun intended.

I also like that the logitech is rechargeable and doesn't require batteries. Cheaper to operate long term and not as heavy.

I do think it's funny to see all these folks coming out in defense of the MM with their various solutions to it's shortcomings -- turn it upside down and rub it -- take it apart and clean it -- put some duct tape around it so the batteries don't fall out etc. etc.

It is awful too. I switched over to the Logitech Bluetooth Mouse

I started using the Bluetooth MM with my MB a while ago, though it's not the best mouse in the world I still like it. Though, I'll be moving to a Logitech Bluetooth mouse also. I think if the MM was lighter it would be fine. The mouse doesn't slide very smoothly and feels much heavier than any mouse I've used.

I do like the Mighty Mouse. I like the size, shape, weight and look's.
I like the right click, side buttons and scroll ball.

I don't like it not working and not being able to do anything about it. (out of warranty). Like i said in my previous post, i took it apart and cleaned it and it still won't work.:(

Just horrible!

I have two iMacs = two mighty mice. The first one got broken after a few weeks. I took it to the shop and when they gave it back to me it got broken again. I bought a Logitech. The second one, instead....got broken after two days. Two! It's pure crap. Shame on Apple for giving us such a horrible product. I much prefer a traditional Logitech. Even a cheap one, but it works!!!

I had the MM bluetooth for about a month. What a piece of ****. Apple should be embrassed to make that product. Its slow, doesnt track well, its not ergonomic, its just not Apple. Why can't they release a mouse that they would be proud of?

I just don't get it.

I own a Logitech BT and its fabulous.

I would love to see one break on Steve during a demonstration....maybe that would make him push to design a better mouse.

i did the exact same thing you did... i bought an mx revolution and never looked back, I couldnt get over the stupid roller ball/scroll wheel on the mighty mouse

I actually like the feel of the ball, but that doesn't change that the mouse sucks ergonomically. Combined with the keyboard it looks great, but I'm far to used to having use mice that actually fit my hand. I wish Logitech would hire one of Apples designers to come up with a nice looking and yet functional mouse, then hire the engineer that developed Steermouse.

Actually if you consider Apple's track record for mice its very "Apple." Theyve never made a good mouse, this was probably their best mouse and even it wasnt very good compared to Microsoft mice at the time. The puck mouse was probably the worst mouse ever made by a major company, then they released the Pro mouse which was way better and one of the best looking mice ever but the optic eye inside it was a paranoid schizophrenic (and it was unacceptable at that point in time to not have 2 buttons or a scroll wheel). Also, if you have ever used the clear Pro mouse on a public computer then youd know how amazingly gross they get on the top. We all know how "great" the mighty mouse is.

I dont think anyone should expect apple's next mouse to be good. They try to reinvent the wheel here and just dont get what makes a good mouse. If anything people should expect the next mouse to be even worse.

I used to work at the Apple Store a few years ago, and when the mighty mice were released I finally thought "awesome, apple is going to make a functional mouse!" then I used it and it was ****. I regularly directed customers away from that mouse, and so did my co-workers.

Fast forward to now, I bought a new iMac and figured...maybe the mighty mouse has improved...wrong. It is still an absolute piece of garbage, everything is sacrificed in the name of looks over functionality.

I bought an MX Revolution for $60 and couldn't be happier. Smooth mouse movement, long battery life, tons of customizable buttons, and hyperscroll is the greatest thing ever. Wireless with a rechargeable battery that lasts for about 2 weeks on a full charge from its accompanying docking station? Yes please.

Avoiding Mouse Finger

The MM is the one and only mouse that I'll use, even on my HP machine at work. You can say that MM has bad ergonomics, but it's the only mouse that will let you left-click by pushing with your entire hand, rather than requiring you to click with one finger. If I use any mouse other than the MM, the joints in my pointer finger scream in pain within an hour.

And, I actually enjoy the way the MM feels in my hand.

Yes, it's pretty bad when you have to "break" a mouse to fix a scroll ball that has stopped working (I finally took mine apart last week - it works great now), but I'll put up with that inconvenience until something else comes out that doesn't require a one-finger left click.

That said, I'd love to see the MM take the form of the ADB II mouse, with the added right-click recognition of the current MM. Now *that* was a comfortable mouse to hold.

The Might Mouse is okay, but that's what it's appeal is in my opinion -- to be a simple, easy-to-use mouse, much like their computers.

I've had a few issues here and there with the scroll wheel, and by no means is it comparable to a top-notch 'gaming mouse', but it does work well with Apple computers; which is more obvious when you picture Apple packaging a overly-complicated Logitech mouse with a slim piece of hardware.

i love my mighty mouse...i have had it for over one year now with daily use and no problem, not even with the ball.
wouldn't use anything else at this moment.

Got new iMac last saturday. Used Mighty Mouse for about 10min, went right back to a M$ wireless. Mighty mouse up on ebay as we speak.

When I went down the the apple store to pick up my MBP, I figured I'd need a mouse for gaming. I messed with the mighty mouse a bit and it was just horrible. It fit my hand very awkwardly. I purchased a third party wireless mouse, but I've grown so accustomed to the trackpad I rarely use it.

A year!?

I got rid of mine within the first four months, haha.

My first one broke within a month (Scroll ball) then the replacement suffered the same fate.

Now, I know I'm not the cleanest of people (my hobbies involve messy substances on my hands- No, it's not what you're thinking :p) but this is a common issue, so I knew that all mighty mice I would get would end the same fate, and eventually Apple would become bankrupt because of me! (lol xD)

I did the same thing as the OP and bought an MX Revolution. I've always been a fan of Logitech mice.

Whoever said you don't quality mice with PCs is wrong. My PC (a cheap one) came with a sturdy little Logitech mouse. Just a plain one with no fancy features but it was very durable and, to some extent, better than my MX Revolution. If it wasn't for the fact that OS X begs for multiple buttoned mice then I would use it with my iMac.

I've noticed that my time on my iMac is a lot more enjoyable with my MX Revolution. I don't have to keep wiping dirt and grim off my mouse every five seconds, I can scroll downwards (And sideways because the Logitech MX Revolution can do that) and I don't have wrist pains anymore. Plus I have the same features as the might mouse. A nice scroll wheel (although my messiness has caused it to kinda snag a bit) which goes in every direction, a button for Dashboard in the middle, an expose button on the side and my MX Revolution is wireless, unlike my Mighty Mouse was (Didn't want the wireless keyboard because I like having the number pad for Sibelius)

If I were to get a Macbook, which I hope to do, I'll probably get a bluetooth Logitech one. Logitech is my favourite Mouse Maker. Shame they didn't have a Bluetooth MX Revolution out in the public when I was to buy mine... Ah well.
