Has anyone seen any videos from hands-on events of a man wearing a 38mm SS AW with Milanese Loop (or a 38mm AW with any band for that matter)?

Also has anyone seen any videos showing a non-sport band on a Sport model AW?

That's exactly what I need to see as well!!!!!!!!! This choice is too rough. I keep teetering between 38 and 42mm Milanese. My wrist is around 160mm maybe 165mm. I have bad measuring skills with paper LOL

Same!! I keep going back and forth between those, and then the classic buckle or SS link bracelets. My only fear with the Milanese is that the asymmetry with the side that has the loop attached will get on my nerves.

so which looks better?

It kind of looks like both have about the same wrist size, not small but defiantly not large wrist either. I'm guessing around 170mm. (I'm around 160mm)
42 isn't bad, but I'm thinking the 38 may look better. I hate saying that, because not sure I want to give up the extra screen space.

You should know that Apple is strongly recommending against developers doing anything different on screen for the different sizes. Besides maybe fitting a tiny bit more text, more like half a line, layouts and behaviors/expectations are not *required* to be identical but very strongly recommended.

The reality is, you probably won't notice any difference unless you're looking at a picture under a magnifying glass.

Apple has gone to great lengths to try to restrict the decision here to one of style and fit, not function. This is probably why they don't go into any meaningful detail about how much more battery life the 42mm version will have even though they do recognize it.

So the advice I would give you, mr. complete stranger on the internet :) is to just follow your sense of fit and style and not worry about the few extra pixels on the screen.

Leaning towards 38mm as well... (165mm wrists here)

Now I just have to decide whether to do Milanese + a black sport band for workouts vs. Classic leather + black sport for workouts...

Honestly I'll probably end up with all 3 bands at some point, but I can't decide which two to start with.

I've decided to rule out the classic leather because it seems like the hardest to take off and put on and I feel like this is going to become something I do with this watch far more often than other watches due to charging. Something to think about, anyway…

Hahaha I've seen that video before. Ahh duhhhh. LOL :). Anyhow, still incredibly hard to decide, but it looks like the 38mm might be a bit more comfortable. And I think the Apple employee had slightly bigger wrists. But it is very hard to tell, LMAO.

Software looks really clunky and unresponsive in that video.

That video is from September 2014

Reinforces my plan of the 38mm SS with loop, and at some future point adding a black leather buckle and possibly the link bracelet.

I think the 38mm size probably looks a little more discreet, though I'm disappointed the Milanese loop only goes up to 180mm. I think I have quite small wrists and that wouldn't even fit me.

Plus the guy seems like he has no idea what button does what.

Milanese loop too formal for everyday use?

Hi,

I'm going for the 42mm SS watch and am in a bit of a pickle over which band to get. I am at uni and wear t-shirt and shorts everyday so was wondering if the milanese loop band will look too formal. My other choices are the black classic buckle or the black leather loop. I'm not so sure about the leather loop as it looks unusual but the classic buckle looks just as formal as the milanese loop. Help, which would look best considering I rarely need to dress smart?

Thanks

I believe you're really over thinking this...... it's a watch band no one is going to look at it while you're in shorts and think "Damn... that thing is way too formal for those shorts". PLUS if you do come in contact with such a person may I suggest you move on and avoid them in the future.

I say get the one that looks good to you.... Back one of the watch band adapter projects out right now and know you can always pick up another watch band from apple if need be. Don't be in fear of what others will think....get what you and your hard earned money want.

I have been thinking about this in a pretty similar way but I just decided why not just throw in an extra rubber band just to switch it up.

I have a collection of very fine, 100% hand made Perpetual Swiss Chronographs.

In fact mine are so rare, so special, each of which are one of a kind, built just for me. By one highly skilled Swiss Watchmaker who spends twelve full months or more building just that one watch. No one else touches it.

If owned by some of my fellow collectors, the watches would be grandly displayed and never worn.

Yet even though I pay stratospheric prices simply to insure them I'd never think of letting them sit. Nor do I need a special occasion to wear them. They are mine to wear and enjoy, and that's what I do.

I don't care what others think and quite frankly I'm happiest when they go unnoticed. They are for my intrinsic satisfaction.

Ditto...wear what you like! Who cares what others may think.

I am pretty subtly too. I prefer when my watches or other things go unnoticed too.

However, even when I wear A Rolex to work people usually never comment unless they are a fellow WIS (watch idiot savant). I have a feeling when I wear the :apple: Watch, people will comment both negative and positive.

As long as you like it, that's all that matters! Wear it in good health.

I'm looking at Milanese as the NATO band of 19th century, it's origin being hot Milan where wrists needed some air.
Check out the history!
That's why I'm planning on it rather than rubber for daily wear in a Texas summer. We'll see how that works out in a few months. #

I plan on wearing Milanese everyday. But will get a sports band in the off chance I decide to become fit.

I'm planning on getting the Milanese too, so my answer is no. But I am getting a Watch Sport, so will wear it with aluminium. The more I look at the Sport though, the more I think the aluminium looks plastic.

What does everyone else think please?

Thank you.

I think you will want the SS with the Milanese band. Milanese is a great looking and classic band. I think it will need the shine of the SS to set it off.

Sorry if I just cost you $200.

Not that I think its to formal for everyday use, but I can only imagine how easy it will be to snatch that off someones wrist. I myself am torn between the stainless steel case with the link bracelet, or the space black stainless steel. If I do go with the stainless steel, I will certainly getting the milanese strap as en extra one for "special" occasions.
