One of the things that had slightly irked me about the Milanese loop was a weird design feature that I couldn't understand. There's a little groove at the end of the strap:

Why not have a nice clean, flat end. What's the point?

Then I remembered that designers like Ive do things for a reason. People have worried about the strength of the magnet. I reckon it's pretty strong: that little groove is to give your fingernail purchase so you can peel off the strap when you're adjusting it!

Good find. If the magnet were not strong, there'd be no need for that. So I guess we can hope that it indeed IS quite strong!

Good find man. I was wondering about the magnet strength and this pretty much answers that question.

I agree. And you gotta wonder they've had conversations about the Watch getting snatched right off people's wrists, so it needs to be strong enough. They don't want Snatch Gate. :p

Why anyone would think that Apple will ship the loops with such weak magnets that they're prone to fall off when someone breathes on it is beyond me.

I for one was picturing walking around my house and accidently bumping into a door knob or object and wondering if the magnet would let go.

The rare earth Magnets used in jewelry (similar to what was in buckey balls) are really strong. Strong to the point that it was banned for toy use.

This. It's cheaper with this setup as I don't like the rubber bands anyway, so I'm getting the milanese and swapping it straight away. Plus on the SS case I don't like the black dot on the Crown. Although when I look at the aluminium on the Sport in the photos I've seen, I'm thinking that it looks like plastic. What does everyone else think?

Thanks.

No prob

i spoke to the apple store online and they said if i buy a sport, only sports bands will fit.. is this true?!

The only band that interests me is the sport band.

I'll be wearing my watch while working out ... which means lots of trail runs during which rain is a frequent occurrence. No other band makes sense.

Nope. I've never been fond of this style. It isn't so much an issue of the feminine appearance as it is the cheapness of the look.

I do like the idea of it being "infinitely" adjustable, though. It's functionally pretty awesome. If function was the only concern, I'd rate it top #1 choice of all these bands.

It too feminine for my tastes, but that's me. My advice is, of you're not sure, don't get it, you may regret it. You should be certain you like something.

I was gonna go 42mm Milanese but I'm thinking it will be too big. I may go 38mm. My wife says the 42 would be too big on me.

Yes, I would, however I am also looking at this watch mainly for Health stuff and thinking of the Sport in Black with the Black band, however I would def get that band if I was looking for an everyday watch, nice, hope it holds up.

I decided to just wait and see after a few weeks/months how the :apple:Watch does, let others test it out before I drop any money on that

I still wouldn't get one for comfort reason. If you have some arm hair, thin or coarse, it will snag some of it, and it'll be painful. The price of it isn't an incentive to get it either.

My current milanese band has never snagged the hair on my wrist and I have a pretty good amount of hair. I was actually surprised that it hasn't because other styles of metal bands have.

I spoke to them about whether this band would be sold separately and they said no, but on their own website, it is being sold separately, so I would take what they say with a pinch of salt!

Videos of Man Wearing 38mm Milanese Loop?

Has anyone seen any videos from hands-on events of a man wearing a 38mm SS AW with Milanese Loop (or a 38mm AW with any band for that matter)?

Also has anyone seen any videos showing a non-sport band on a Sport model AW?
